A bit of a rough start on this with a downpour of rain after the first outlines. We couldn't abandon the wall as we were covering a friends piece, so we painted a dripping wet wall. Looks alright in photo.

I must apologize to all my Flickr buddies for being out of touch for a bit. The weather has been terribly cold, and making it very tough to get out and take pictures. Also, I've been feeling In a bit of a funk in general, and seeking inspiration. I'm sure many of you can relate to me when say that this can be the best way to work through troubling emotions.
This was taken out at the in-laws' farm near the end of January.
It's good to be back--I hope all of you are in good spirits and finding inspiration everywhere you look.

Six days ago I posted an nearly identical scene with the same name except that one was in b&w. Generally I prefer color but in this case I think I like the b&w image more. (DSC_8050.jpg)
(1 in a multiple picture album)
My favorite scene is when calm water reflects what is around it. I found a perfect example while hiking around Lake George in the Mammoth Lake Region of the Eastern Sierra Nevada.
That is Crystal Crag on top, a rock climbers destination. On the right you can see some early fall color.
Note the log lying under the crystal clear water.

I was originally enrolled into the GETTY IMAGES collection as a contributor on April 9th 2012, and when links with FLICKR were terminated in March 2014, I was retained and fortunate enough to be signed up via a second contract, both of which have proved to be successful with sales of my photographs all over the world now handled exclusively by them.
On November 12th 2015 GETTY IMAGES unveiled plans for a new stills upload platform called ESP (Enterprise Submission Platform), to replace the existing 'Moment portal', and on November 13th I was invited to Beta test the new system prior to it being officially rolled out in December. ESP went live on Tuesday December 15th 2015 and has smoothed out the upload process considerably.
These days I take a far more leisurely approach to my photographic exploits, and having moved from professional Nikon equipment to consumer bodies and lenses, I travel light less constraints and more emphasis on the pure capture of the beauty that I see, more akin to my original persuits and goals some five decades previously when starting out. I would like to say a huge and heartfelt 'THANK YOU' to GETTY IMAGES, and the 22.893+ Million visitors to my FLICKR site.

This photograph became my 3,019th frame to be selected for sale in the Getty Images collection and I am very grateful to them for this wonderful opportunity.

**** This frame was chosen on August 7th 2018 to appear on FLICKR EXPLORE (Highest Ranking: #80. This is my 103rd photograph to be selected, which for me is both amazing and exciting, as I never view my images as worthy compared to some of the awesome photography out there. EXPLORE is Flickr's way of showcasing the most interesting photos within a given point in time -- usually over a 24 hour period.
Flickr receives about 6,000 uploads every minute -- That's about 8.6 million photos a day! From this huge group of images, the Flickr Interestingness algorithm chooses only 500 images to showcase for each 24-hour period. That's only one image in every 17,000!..... so I am really thrilled to have a frame picked and most grateful to every one of the 17.950 Million people who have visited, favourite and commented on this and all of my other photographs here on my FLICKR site. *****

The out of place fountain, the vehicles in random locations without any markings, the lady just walking past in the void, it all just has a certain I-don't-know-what to it.

This is a scene from the movie "Blade Runner", that I've painted in acrylic for my son Andrew. I'm going to a fancy dress party on Saturday night in an old posh club downtown that might offer me some good photo ops to paint . I feel really inspired after doing this scene.

Roaming through the botanic gardens eventually brought us to the Heritage Farm area.

Scene from the sailboat marina at West Harbour in Malmoe, Sweden.
The bridge in the background can be seen in another picture in my stream.
This scene is located In Chelmsford, MA. This was taken last winter, but this photo was edited today on "November 24, 2019".
I'm alive! Just got back from Brickworld, and I've been planning and building a bit, but not very active here.
I put this small scene together to showcase the Crazy Arms that Guy has started selling. I'll be having a lot of fun with these.
Miniatur Wunderland Hamburg is a spectacular Model World featuring many Land- and Cityscapes from around the world containing model trains, moving cars, ships and even a fully functional airport with starting and landing planes.
All of this is meticulously handcrafted to the smallest Detail.

Also make sure to visit this wonderful World, whenever you are in Hamburg.
Big scenes are back on Flickr.
My dream was to make something like this someday. I guess it has come true, haha.
Scenes were once very popular I guess because of very good builders like Julien Andries, Andreas, Lego Junkie, Stijn Oom. They were the biggest inspiration for me to make this build.
It's also a small announcement of an apoc scenes group that starts soon. Stay tuned. ;)
Some building techniques are by Ralf Langer. Credit to him.
I will post more shots of this, there is a fun thing behind those buildings. ;)
Enjoy!
~Jan
