Say’s Phoebe is a distinctively hued species that breeds in western North America, from the far southwestern USA up through Canada and through much of Alaska. These are birds that prefer open terrain in a variety of habitats. This individual was seen west of Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

Not often I am stumped for words, yet here we are.

Why did I have to take most of it off just because I put this skin on?

In an ultimate "WTF" moment, CN brought Essexville, MI empties back to BNSF's doorstep in Chicago this morning under the care of a pair of tattered, aging CN C40-8M's. Leaving suburbia behind, WBD BNSF E CGKBTM8 13A nears the Mendota Sub near the west end of what once was CB&Q's Aurora Passenger Depot. BF-1 was there!
Furiously snapping photos before the weather turns. Many early spring flowers can survive a short cold spell but the tender magnolias are goners. We aren't in the bullseye here for the worst of it but possible hail and wind will be hard on the flowers.
It paused momentarily on the perch before it continued to hunt. I was hiding behind my car for the shot.

Yesterday, when I took my Land Rover to the garage, I spotted these funny fellows behind the building. . .
As the days grow shorter and the air turns crisper, it's time to say goodbye to summer. The season of long, sunlit days, beach trips, and lazy afternoons is slipping away, making room for the golden hues of autumn. Memories of laughter and warmth linger, but there's a quiet anticipation in the air for cozy sweaters, pumpkin-spiced treats, and the vibrant colors of falling leaves. While it’s bittersweet to bid farewell to summer’s carefree spirit, the promise of a new season brings its own kind of magic.
A Crane ( sorry I meant to say Great Blue Heron), in the water at Diaz Lake, at sunrise, one morning while we were camping. He took off right arter this but I never got a good shot of him in flight.
Lisa is a dilute (or muted) calico, a very rare color pattern. Only one in every 1,000 cats is born a standard calico and dilute calico cats are even rarer. The internet also says they can be expensive, costing between $400 and $2,000. I got Lisa for free, however, adopting her and her brother, Bart, through www.realcruzancats.org.
I shot this last May in Carrabelle Florida. Sometime in the night the Pirates Sons left to go shrimping and I didn’t see her for a couple of days. I can’t say much about the processing except I used Photoshop and there is a little bit of everything in this one.

The late Dennis Avery, land owner of Galleta Meadows Estates in Borrego Springs, California, envisioned the idea of adding 'free standing art' to his property with original steel welded sculptures created by 'Perris Jurassic Park' owner/artist/welder Ricardo Breceda based in Perris, California. There are over 130 metal sculptures located in Borrego Springs.
