After going to a meeting in San Francisco I went to the Sutro Bath ruins near the Cliff House. A bride and groom showed up with photographers. Ah, sunsets are nice!
I processed a balanced HDR photo from a RAW exposure.

From its high perch a Say's phoebe scans the area for flying insects on a cool afternoon at Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge. Say's phoebes are one of my favorite flycatchers, as they show up relatively early in the spring, are fairly easy to identify, and wag their tails when perched. We have a pair that nest somewhere near our house in Boulder, providing entertainment from our front porch.
Say's phoebe gets its name from the naturalist Thomas Say who was the first to collect specimens near present day Cañon City Colorado, when he accompanied the Stephen Long expedition in 1819-1820. They breed as far north as the Brooks Range and the Arctic coast.
Off to the vets this morning to get Mollie and Rupert their travel Passports!
We are going to France for a month in Summer and i cannot bring myself to leave them behind in England! So they are both coming with us!

A very obliging Say's Phoebe was working both sides of the trail today trying to catch insects. The Autumn foliage added a nice splash of color in the background.
