On Friday, September 28, 2018, the Syracuse Academy of Science held its third annual Science Meets Jazz fundraising dinner. Jennifer Sanders and Iris St. Meran, news anchors and hosts of the podcast "The Ladies Room" emceed the event at the Sky Armory. Doors opened at 6:00 p.m. and the evening began with demonstrations from the #SASCS Robotics Club, a silent auction featuring a custom piece created by the #SASCS Art Club, and three musical numbers performed by the #SASCS High School band and choir.

Headlining the evening was the world-renowned saxophonist, Elan Trotman. The SAMMY award-winning jazz group, E.S.P. Jazz, opened the evening and accompanied Trotman during his set. The audience enjoyed Mr. Trotman's original work, Island Gal, and danced the night away with classic sounds from Stevie Wonder and Earth Wind and Fire.

The evening was put together to bring the world of art and science together to raise funds for STEM and Robotics programs at the Syracuse Academy of Science. Overall it was an absolute success, and would not have been possible without the followings sponsors: Pathfinder Bank, M&T Insurance Agency, Barclay Damon, Just The Right Stuff, Wegmans, Americu, Terra Science Foundation, 100 Black Men of Syracuse, Chartwells, WAER, The Sky Armory, ALoft Hotels, George Kilpatrick, Hummels & BME, Jim Stagnitta Electric, and Austin & Co. Thank you for supporting the Syracuse Academy of Science. We are building success one ATOM at a time.
