Each one wants the other to love him but does not take into account the fact that to love is to want to be loved and that thus by wanting the other to love him , he only wants the other to want to be loved in turn… hence the lover’s perpetual dissatisfaction. Jean Paul Sartre

"Hell is other people" Sartre

It is not a war of all against all that Sartre depicts, but an inner drama of the conscience, through which it discovers itself exposed to the gaze of others.

The Bentley story at the 24 Hours of Le Mans is as old as the race itself. Although the British manufacturer had to settle for fourth place in the inaugural edition of 1923, they came back the following year to clinch the first of six victories. The legend was born.

The aura surrounding Bentley at Le Mans is somewhat unique and the Bentley Boys, a group of wealthy British gentlemen (also called « the playboys racer »), undoubtedly played a part in the British public’s fascination with the iconic French race.

The most famous of them all was Woolf “Babe” Barnato, who took control of Bentley in 1924. He pulled off the remarkable feat of winning all of his three consecutive races in which he took part (1928–30).

In 1966 with a hat-trick of the American cars, the success is present but not everything goes as planned…

but the Ford GT40 won the 24 Hours of Le Mans again in 1967, 1968 and 1969, and remains the only American car to count victories in La Sarthe.
