So there you go, oh

Can't make a wife out of a ho, oh

I'll never find the words to say I'm sorry

But I'm scared to be alone

You cut out a piece of me, and now I bleed internally

Left here without you (no, no, no), without you (ooh, ooh)

And it hurts for me to think about what life could possibly be like

Without you (no, no, no), without you (no, no)

Or more usually just “Arrowhead”. They’re common, but to me always bear the suggestion of places rich in life. And I find them elegant too.

Sagittarius (the golden pendant)

Thank you very much for your visits, comments and faves!

HMM!

The secretarybird or secretary bird (Sagittarius serpentarius) is a large, mostly terrestrial bird of prey. Endemic to Africa, it is usually found in the open grasslands and savanna of the sub-Saharan region. John Frederick Miller described the species in 1779. Although a member of the order Accipitriformes, which also includes many other diurnal birds of prey such as kites, hawks, vultures, and harriers, it is placed in its own family, Sagittariidae.

The secretarybird is instantly recognizable as a very large bird with an eagle-like body on crane-like legs that give the bird a height of as much as 1.3 m (4 ft 3 in). The sexes are similar in appearance. Adults have a featherless red-orange face and predominantly grey plumage, with a flattened dark crest and black flight feathers and thighs.

Breeding can take place at any time of year, but tends to be late in the dry season. The nest is built at the top of a thorny tree, and a clutch of one to three eggs is laid. In years with plentiful food all three young can survive to fledgling. The secretarybird hunts and catches prey on the ground, often stomping on victims to kill them. Insects and small vertebrates make up its diet.

Although the secretarybird occurs over a large range, the results of localised surveys suggest that the total population is experiencing a rapid decline, probably as a result of habitat degradation. The species is therefore classed as Endangered by the International Union for Conservation of Nature. It appears on the coats of arms of Sudan and South Africa.

I officially accept the fact that I will be another year older in 2 days. No matter how rough the year was for me, I will try my best to keep all the good memories and turn the not-so-good moments into one big lesson as it has made me who I am today.

Der Sekretär (Sagittarius serpentarius) - ein großer Greifvogel aus Afrika

Sagittarius serpentarius. Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park - South Africa

I am a True Sagittarius in every sense of the word & you either love me or hate me - theres no middle ground.

"The Sagittarius horoscope symbol is the Centaur or Archer. The Sagittarius sign symbol is usually depicted as an arrow pointing upwards. Sagittarius is always aiming for a higher spiritual ideal and philosophy in life, in addition to embodying an optimistic attitude. Thus, the Sagittarius symbol of the arrow pointed skyward expresses the wisdom and honesty of this philosophical zodiac sign."

I'm a Sagittarius and I wouldn't necessarily say that all the above is true. I do feel though that the unicorn expresses the essence of the sign with the horse-like body and the horn pointing upward, reaching for the heavens.

Sagittarius - Still working with color theory. Focused on the Triad color palette to bring emotion. I used blue as the dominant color which brings calm, serene and softness. Added multiple layers of textures to create depth. This art piece was created for a Zodiac theme challenge. SAGITTARIUS - optimistic, intellectual, adventurous, sociable…lovers of freedom.
