Hello my amazing Flickr friends !

Today is a red day at Color my World Daily. And the theme at Macro Mondays is safety. What is the best illustration (in my opinion) of safety ? Safety pin of course ! I must admit, as a clumsy person, I’m always carrying stuff just in case… and safety pins saved my life more than once !! Since I’m very lazy and I have no intention of learning how to sew, safety pins are my bests friends ! I have several garments with a very, very sophisticated safety pins system and I have been wearing those for years… A safety pin can be a life savor in lots of situations ! Especially if you work in an office and you have a dress code … Right now, it is another story: my safety pins aren’t that useful while working from home but I still carry them with me… You never know when you will need a safety pin !! Maybe a broken heart will need a safety pin just to hold all its pieces together…

I hope you like my picture ! Greetings from a very cold Montreal ! See you later !!

Thank you so much for all your lovely comments / favs/ general support / happy thoughts!! Stay safe and well!! And see you soon on Flickr !!

For your information: my safety pin is 1,5cm long.

Hello my amazing Flickr friends !

Today is a red day at Color my World Daily and we celebrate pins at Macro Mondays.

Of course: safety pin is my choice for this theme. I can’t tell you how many times a tiny safety pin saved my life. And I’m not alone in this situation, just ask MacGyver (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MacGyver), I’m sure this guy was saved more than once by a safety pin! So here we go: my picture shows my love and eternal gratitude for safety pins and their inventor !! Thank you so much tiny safety pin for helping me daily, keeping things together and not falling apart!

I’m officially on vacation, so I apologize for being on and off for the next few weeks (yes I have several weeks of vacation each year, isn’t that awesome?) and since my 2 sons are also on vacation my entire schedule is doomed … I will try to catch up as soon as possible my friends!!

Mucho, mucho amor for you all !! Have a beautiful day my friends!! See you later!!

Thank you so much for all your lovely comments / favs/ general support / happy thoughts!! Stay safe and well!! And see you soon on Flickr!!

Para el tema SAFETY de Macro Mondays.

This is a wee safety catch on an antique bracelet. And I just broke my new rule: do not ask my husband for his opinion. Too shallow, said he.

But when I donned my masculine side with that hat photo last week, I didn't please a few. Ah well, this is fewer than 2 inches/5cm. Might try a different aperture...or not.

For this weeks Macro Mondays challenge "Safety" I chose tweezers with a safety cap. In order to capture this shot I made a double exposure the first with the cap on and the second with the cap off.

If you fav this photo please leave a comment as to why you like it, thanks in advance.

No one wants to drop a camera because a strap cord breaks. The sling straps that I use on my cameras guard against that by using an assembly containing abrasion resistant cords that attach to the camera lugs, and the cords also indicate wear level by showing a white inner layer when it's time to replace them.

The straps also feature an attachment mechanism that makes it easy to swap out a bad cord for a new cord when necessary...a push of the button with the "pd" on it allows the circular button assembly that holds the cord to slide out the back of the strap attachment (toward the left here) so that a new button assembly with cord can be snapped in. (The pd stands for Peak Design, the name of the strap vendor.)

Each strap comes with an extra button assembly, but so far, after about four years of ownership, I haven't yet had to use one. :-)

The Lady Beetle is a hand-me-down from my old boss when she left; it used to adorn her computer screen😂🐞💕

As early as the Bronze Age, someone must have come up with the idea of making a long pin, bending it double and then making a kind of hook on one side behind which you could hide the point. The Romans used this classic safety pin, which they called fibula, to keep their clothes together. boivin.nl/dagelijkse-dingen/281-veiligheidsspeld#:~:text=....

Because of the safety measures implemented during Covid-19, there is a reduced collection of downtown Springfield, Mo regulars. Some, such as these couple of skate boarders, utilize the ghost town as a surrogate for their otherwise closed usual hang-outs.

I appreciate Dominic and his friend for inviting me to shoot them during their trick boarding session.
