Tonight's 95% illuminated waxing gibbous moon rising from behind the pine trees about 1/4 mile away. I've been trying to catch it before it got too dark to get the tree/sky illuminated. Two shots composited together so I could get them both in pretty good focus.

It's 95% complete, I kinda lost interest towards the end. The bottom of those saucer sections bug me. Anyways, a nice bit of S.H.I.P. practice coming in a 102 studs long.

19th June 2019:

I went next door to visit Yvonne this afternoon. I hadn't been for a very long time, which was remiss of me, especially as Evelyne, her daughter, saw Graham yesterday evening and told him that Yvonne has been diagnosed as having colon cancer.

As she's 95 the doctors aren't going to operate, but she's still convinced she'll be in hospital in the morning or "upstairs"!

The three of us were sitting chatting, when our Collared Doves came to visit. They actually aren't our Collared Doves, they're Yvonne's and she made that quite clear .....

Luckily, I'd taken my camera with me and I spent a lot of time taking photos through her clean patio windows. Really must do something with ours.

I also took some photos of Yvonne, but I will have to get permission to upload them. She hates having her photo taken, but Evelyne told her it was OK and would be nice. I will upload one, if Evelyne says I can.

But for now, it's just one of Yvonne's Collared Doves.

Perhaps the most famous photographic location in the state of Washington, Mt Shuksan reflected on Picture Lake in the North Cascades.

At an elevation of 4,500' the landscape is only snow free for perhaps 2 months out of the year being buried in an average of 600+ inches a year. This area holds the worlds record for snowfall in a season, during the 1998 - 1999 season 1,140" of snow fell!!. That`s 95' or 2,896 cm!!

It's 95 degrees in the shade outside. It must be something to do with the heat that prompted me to post this photo . . . it was either this, or one of me in a down parka freezing my tush off.

I wonder if the summer weather impacts our inhibitions. It's a time for shorts, miniskirts, summer dresses, sandals, tank tops . . . and masks. This little chemise seemed appropriate for the times.

Five bicyclists wait for sunrise at Angkor Wat. That’s 95 Wombat in the middle. As the only one of the five with a “real” camera and tripod, my images were a lot sharper and cleaner than those my comrades captured … the woman on my right in this scene wanted to see what I’d shot, which was kind of flattering.

A 5 unit consist of mostly CMQ locomotives hauls it's 95 car train near mile 35 on the Moosehead Sub. Blair Hill is shadowed in low hanging clouds in the distance with Moosehead Lake directly on the other side of the tracks.

Dickson County was created by an act of the Tennessee General Assembly, meeting in Knoxville, on October 25, 1803, from portions of Robertson and Montgomery counties. This new county was named for Dr. William Dickson, a Nashville physician, who also served as Speaker of the Tennessee House of Representatives and as a U. S. Congressman. Dickson never lived in the county, but his relatives were prominent in its early development. Dickson was a close friend of President Andrew Jackson. Dickson County was organized as the 25th of the of Tennessee's 95 counties.

Dickson County is home to Tennessee's oldest courthouse in continuous use. It was built in 1833 with the Architect & Contractor being Phillip Murray. This was the second courthouse in Charlotte as the first one, a log building, was destroyed in the Tornado of 1833, which destroyed all but one building on the courthouse square.

Comer en alguno de los restaurantes de esas calles. Hay un Parador Nacional, pero los precios, como todos los Paradores Nacionales, no están hechos para la crisis. Su menú para comer: 29,00 €. En un restaurante aceptable de Olite, Erri Berria, costó unos 16,50 €. En un Hostal de 4 *, también en Olite, 22,00 €. Calculad que invertiréis casi todo el día entre el paseo para conocer Olite, comer y luego ir a ver el Palacio Real de Carlos III el Noble (1387 - 1425) y su esposa Leonor de Trastámara. Según la Historia, es realmente Leonor quien impulsa la obra. www.olite.es/turismo/palacio-de-olite. El Palacio tiene multitud de estancias, lleva más de una hora visitarlo sin guía. Si te dedicas a buscar rincones y escenas para hacer tus fotos, entonces puedes dedicarle incluso 3 o 4 horas. Entre subir y bajar escaleras… dejé de contar al llegar a 300; muchas de ellas en caracol.

Toma: Esta escena está hecha desde uno de los pasillos exteriores enfocando hacia la torre más alta del Palacio, la Torre de la Atalaya, del Vigía o de la Joyosa Guarda. En ella cabía normalmente sólo un hombre que hacía la tarea de vigilancia del horizonte, en la imagen hay claramente “overbooking”.

Tratamiento: Con Aperture. Original en RAW. Formato cuadrado y guardando las reglas. Aumento de la definición, saturación y vibración. Nada más.

An other challenging KAP session…

The previous day I only had my Ricoh GR and the wind was too weak to really take of but the air traffic (choppers and small Cessna) was pretty dense and VERY low… no wonder, this section of Cable Beach is in the approach cone of the runway ! This morning I contacted Broome’s airport air traffic control and requested a 400 feet clearance between 4 and 5 PM to fly my kite; my request was accepted.

Having only one kite while traveling (Dan Leigh Delta R8) my only option in case the wind was too weak was to reduce the weight of the rig. While getting ready and waiting for the camels to arrive on the beach, The Ricoh GR and its wide angle converter were flying smoothly, I then had to remove the converter and then changed the Ricoh for the Canon S 95 with CHDK but by the time the Camels were there, the wind died a bit more and in hurry had to pass to plan B and C : the minimalist pendulum rig for the Go Pro (a piece of rubber around the Go Pro and a wire attached between the rubber band and the kite string, (a very clever German engineering designed by Wolfgang Bieck) but of course I had forgotten the mini SD card for the GP3 and had to switch to the GP2 which had no SD card… I quickly took the SD card from the Ricoh, set up the interval mode to 2 seconds and in no time the Go Pro 2 was flying right above the camels, hoping I did not forget anything in the set up.

Everything went smoothly almost as planned with a bit of adrenalin and stress but that’s part of the fun !
