The Perseids are a prolific meteor shower associated with the comet Swift–Tuttle. The meteors are called the Perseids because the point from which they appear to hail (called the radiant) lies in the constellation Perseus. (WiKi)...
...My first attempt at night photography after getting a new tripod :-))
A little further downstream from the last shot, this shows the wonderful Murray Princess with those amazing cliffs that line the whole outer edge in this 180 degree horseshoe bend in the Murray River. Also visible are some of the many pelicans that call the river home, and on the top of shot you can see the fruit orchards (mainly oranges here) that start around this section of the river and continue a long way north and then east.
It had been raining lightly and very overcast all day, but the sun broke through just in time for my long awaited shots of the Murray Princess at Big Bend.
I'm testing this new bridge camera which has got a 24-600mm zoom lens without being as heavy as a DSLR with the equivalent lens. It's a good solution for trekking when one doesn't want to carry all one's gear. But are the pictures good too ? I always shoot in raw and use LR to process the photos. This picture was shot in Jpeg though to be able to use the zoom at its full length.
Hadina is a pond in the Pelhřimov district in the Vysočina Region. It is located on the outskirts of the town of Humpolec near the Hadina section. The pond lies at an altitude of 495 m.
Picture was taken from Orlík Castle - was built at the end of the 14th century, it included a 22-metre high prismatic tower, half of its height was walled, half of it was hollow with a staircase. The castle was damaged during the Thirty Years' War and became a ruin during the 19th century. In 2014 a lookout tower was opened here.

Very small heron of marshy, well-vegetated water bodies. Adult pale orangish brown or yellow, depending on the light, with a narrow dark cap. Juvenile darker above with pale feather edges. Can be inconspicuous in dense vegetation, but frequently makes short flights; on flying birds, note dark flight feathers contrasting with pale yellowish wing coverts. Typically quiet, but occasionally gives harsh grating calls when flushed. (eBird)

We played hide and seek with eight of these bitterns and this is the best of the four shots I got. The grass was waving in the wind, giving the results a "now you see me, now you don't" vibe. Ultimately, the quintessential bittern photo :-)

What will it bring us? Not long and we will have a choice in Germany.
Red? Black? Yellow, or green?

Just not brown!!!
Groan - sorry about the title!
Our little crocus patch was begging for some low to the ground shots. I singled out one for the focus to lock onto.
Taken with the Nisi close up lens screwed on to the Sony RX10 which brings the minimum focus distance down to just 6 inches.
Spring relaxation on the beach.
I don't like cyclists very much, but some bike always looks good in photos .... :-)
