Completed the sculpt work on my first version of Roy Batty - Blade Runner - 1:18 scale. Like the Deckard figure posted earlier, had to go back and make some adjustments to the mid-torso cut, shoulders and elbows. Aves FIXIT is a brilliant product but is unforgiving once cured!
Completed the sculpt of the coat and gave the figure a little more in the height department. More work on Batty to come - I imagine a few more versions of him I would like to do...#roybatty #bladerunner #replicant #rutgerhauer

Finally I found some collectors cards of my favourite series, Floris (1969). The series was the start of the successful vareers of director Paul Verhoeven, scriptwriter Gerard Soeteman and of course Rutger Hauer. Hauer played the exiled knight Floris. With his Indian friend Sindala (Jos Bergman), he tries to get his birth right papers back from Maarten van Rossem (Hans Culeman), an evil lord. During their quest they get help from Wolter van Oldenstein (Ton Vos), a noble man who offers them a place in his castle. They also meet the pirate Lange Pier (Hans Boskamp).

Naštěstí přežije, ale je odsouzen nadoživotí v novém experimentálním vězení Táboře Holliday, provozovanémvelikášským sadistickým správcem Wardenem Hollidayem (Stephen Tobolowsky).Toto vězení má oproti ostatním několik nedostatků. Nemá stráže, zdi animříže a navíc je smíšené. Jediným způsobem udržení zločinců namístě se tak stává elektronický obojek se silnou výbušninou kolem krku.Je to vlastně jakési pouto mezi dvěma různými vězni, kteří se od sebenesmí vzdálit na víc jak maximálních pár set metrů, jinak oba obojkyexplodují. Brzy za Frankem přijde spoluvězeňkyně Tracy Riggsová (MimiRogers) s tím, že on je její pouto a že chce utéct. Ale Sam a Noelles Hollidayem jsou jim v patách, protože vidina bohatství je velicelákavá.(monolog)

This was the very last puppet I was asked to draw for my puppet show being performed in Holland quite soon.
I was asked to draw Clint Eastwood (circa THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE UGLY) and Rutger Hauer (circa THE HITCHER) and devise the art so that when the Clint side of a stick puppet is flipped, he 'transforms' into Rutger.
I don't think I pulled off these likenesses too well. I need to be in a totally different sort of mindset to work on drawings of real people.
At least I tried.

The past two weeks Dutch-American actor Rutger Hauer had his DAF3300 truck parked on the banks of the Nieuwe Maas in Rotterdam. He is in town attending the International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR 23 January - 3 February 2008) Under Hauer's supervision thirty film makers from all over the world gathered for ten days to make twelve short films.
