This old abandoned ranch house did have some conveniences in its day. The water pump on the left and near the back still has a nice coat of paint on it, and so does the ringer washer on the front porch. The papasan chairs hanging on the front wall would make for a comfy place to sit on the porch on a long hot summer evening. I'm not sure about the picture with the three cowboys in it, though, maybe it's a family portrait.
Sunday reflections at Märsta, a cozy corner where rustic charm meets lively conversation. Warm lights, wooden beams, and inviting shelves set the stage for celebrating this special day in quiet serenity.
Wherever this day takes me, I’m always here with you all. With my trusty cellphone in hand, your beautiful moments never go unnoticed, it’s a joy to celebrate them from wherever I may be.
An attractive looking restaurant, the tables laid ,the lull before the lunch time rush.In a wonderful position , under the shade of the tree , a lovely place to relax, enjoy the food and refreshments and savour the atmosphere.
Distressed, neglected and abandoned ,this decaying building still has some photographic appeal. The crumbling brickwork, the peeling paint and fading colour contrasts full of chararacter in my eyes. This is a first floor door and window and small platform,I can only assume it was a warehouse in some past life.
In the heart of Balazuc, where sunlight weaves through ancient vines and stone arches, lies this quiet passage — a moment of stillness carved into the rock of southern France.
This isn’t just a doorway — it’s a threshold into centuries of stories. The worn path beneath your feet, the wild greenery creeping through forgotten cracks, and the dappled light brushing old shutters… they all speak of time passing slowly, lovingly.
Tucked along the limestone cliffs of the Ardèche, Balazuc wears its age beautifully. Every turn in this village invites you to linger — to imagine life before speed and screens.
..until the chauffeur, composed and purposeful, made his departure. He took the narrow path up the gentle rise, passing beneath the arch of that distinguished structure with its venerable clock—hands wanting twenty minutes to two - leaving behind only the hush of old stone and a faint trace of his service.
I took this in Verona because I was struck by the contrast between the faded blue shutters and the warm ochre wall which felt quietly expressive. The cracks in the stone frame and the worn paint gave it a kind of lived in charm I did not want to overlook. It is a simple scene but something about the texture and color made it feel worth capturing.
Experience the beauty of autumn in Greece through this stunning photograph of the Pelion railway line. The narrow gauge railway, operated by Thessaly Railways, winds its way through a lush forest, with a stone warehouse-house nestled alongside the tracks. The turning rails are hidden by the warehouse, adding a touch of mystery to the scene. This railway line connects the city of Volos with the town of Mileai on the picturesque Pelion Peninsula.
Theresa May told Britain that there was no such thing as a "magic money tree". Apparantly she was mistaken.
The origin of money trees, not uncommon in parts of Yorkshire, are believed to date back to pagan times when people believed mystical spirits lived in trees and by making offerings to the trees people would benefit from wisdom, healing and insight. It is a similar tradition to that of throwing coins into running water, fountains or wishing wells.
But the first recorded instance of a money tree where a fallen branch had coins hammered in seems to date to the 1700’s in Scotland near Argyll. Queen Victoria even mentioned there being one near Gairloch in the Highlands in one of her diary entries.
The belief associated with money trees seems to come from the folklore that you could rid yourself of an illness by hammering a coin into a tree. But conversely if someone took a coin out from one of the trees that they would fall ill. This then evolved with people believing that they would be granted a wish if they drove a coin past the bark into the tree’s wood.
For Macro Monday, I captured these small monastery bells gently dangling from a weathered wooden beam in Klosterhof Bernried. Their aged metal texture and delicate suspension on steel cables tell a story of time and tradition. The fine details of these rustic bells shine through in monochrome, emphasizing their historic charm and craftsmanship. A peaceful moment frozen in time, where every dangle carries an echo of the past.
On the silent trail leading up to Plan de Corones, physical fatigue doesn’t hinder my imagination instead, I picture the stories the mountain huts tell, stories I can hear.

While exploring British Columbia's Boundary Country back roads, specifically in the Bridesville/Rock Creek area, we came across this well hidden abandoned church. The Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Rock Mountain was built in 1930 by brothers Hugo, Paul and Joe Dumont. In the recent past, it was used to store beehives and bees for honey production.

In front of a restaurant in the picturesque town of Sighnaghi stands a colorful, weathered car. On its roof rests a qvevri, the large clay vessel that symbolizes Georgia’s ancient winemaking tradition. Painted in bright colors with the town’s name, the car instantly catches the eye of passersby and invites them to step inside. The surroundings of Sighnaghi belong to Kakheti, Georgia’s most famous wine region. Wine has been made here for over 8,000 years, earning the country the title “the cradle of winemaking.” Even today, wine is still produced in the traditional way using qvevris, buried underground. Grapes — including skins and seeds — ferment and mature for months, creating unique, full-bodied flavors and an amber hue for white wines. The restaurant marked by this car honors that centuries-old tradition with the qvevri on its roof. Visitors strolling through Sighnaghi’s cobblestone streets are reminded of Kakheti’srich wine culture. Inside, you can taste local wines like Saperavi and Rkatsiteli, paired with traditional dishes and the warm hospitality Georgia is known for. Thus, the car is not just an eye-catcher but a visual invitation to discover the flavors and stories of Sighnaghi — a town where history, gastronomy, and wine come together.
In front of a cozy restaurant in Sighnaghi, this colorful vintage car proudly displays the town’s name. On its roof sits a qvevri, the traditional clay vessel used for Georgian winemaking for over 8,000 years. It’s a playful nod to the rich wine heritage of Kakheti, where ancient traditions still live on. Visitors are invited to step inside, taste Saperavi or Rkatsiteli, and experience the unique blend of history, wine, and warm Georgian hospitality.

The evening air hums with the quiet rhythm of something almost there, the kind of stillness that lingers before a melody finds its first note. Marqs stands just a step away, watching Nene as she sits on the haybale, boot tapping out an absent beat.
"You always sit like that when you’re waitin’ on somethin’?" he asks, voice easy, carrying the kind of patience that says he’s not in a hurry—but he ain’t leaving, either.
Nene tilts her head, amusement flickering beneath the brim of her hat. "Depends. You always ask questions when you already know the answer?"
Marqs chuckles, taking a slow step forward. "Just makin’ sure. Some folks tap their boot like that when they’re thinkin’. Others do it when they feel like dancin’."
She smirks, watching him now. "And which one do I look like?"
Marqs shifts, barely bridging the space between them, his grin pulling just enough to make it teasing. "Hard to say. Reckon I’d know better if you stood up."
Nene exhales a quiet laugh, shaking her head. "Now, that’s a clever way of askin’."
"Didn’t say I was askin'," Marqs says, tipping his hat. "Just wonderin’ if you got a reason for sittin’ here instead."
Nene pauses, just long enough to let the moment breathe, let him wait for an answer. Then—soft, certain—she says, "I’m waiting on the right song."
Marqs watches her, something unreadable passing through his expression, though his grin doesn’t quite fade. He lets her words settle, lets them find a place in the quiet between them. Then, with the ease of someone who knows every good song starts with a little patience, he tips his hat one last time.
"Well then," he says, voice lighter now, carrying something sure, something steady. "Guess I better stick around long enough to hear it."

Farmers in the Kazbegi region in Georgia lead a simple yet challenging life. The climate is harsh, with severe winters and short summers. Due to the rocky soil and mountainous terrain, agriculture is difficult, so most farmers focus on livestock breeding, mainly sheep and cattle. They also cultivate cold-resistant crops such as potatoes and barley. Many locals combine traditional farming with tourism. With the growing interest in the Kazbegi region, some farmers rent out rooms to travelers or sell local products such as honey, cheese, and handmade woolen clothing. Near the farmhouse, close to the village of Arsha, lies the Arsha Waterfall, about five kilometers from Stepantsminda Kazbegi. The hike to the waterfall is considered easy and typically takes three to four hours. The trail is unpaved but well-trodden, surrounded by lush meadows, and offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains. The waterfall is one of the lesser-known natural attractions in the area, contributing to its untouched and serene atmosphere. A bit further lies the Toti Waterfall, accessible via a steep trail that passes above the Arsha Waterfall. This waterfall offers spectacular panoramic views and is an ideal spot for a picnic. Visitors can enjoy the tranquility, the breathtaking nature, and even take a refreshing dip in the crystal-clear water. For adventure seekers, it is possible to continue the hike to the nearby Gergeti Glacier, making the journey a full-day excursion.
The image depicts a farmhouse in a mountainous landscape near the Arsha Waterfall, close to the town of Arsha in Georgia's Kazbegi region. This area is renowned for its rugged wilderness, towering mountains, and traditional villages.

Sighnaghi, perched on a mountain ridge in eastern Georgia, is often called the "City of Love" — and for good reason. With its beautifully restored houses, charming alleys, and sweeping views over the Alazani Valley, this little town attracts not only tourists but also couples in love. In fact, Sighnaghi’s town hall is open 24 hours a day for weddings. The town is surrounded by an impressive 18th-century defensive wall with watchtowers, built during the reign of King Erekle II to protect it from invasions. Today, you can walk along parts of the wall and enjoy breathtaking views of the Caucasus Mountains in the distance. Beyond its historic architecture and cobblestone streets, Sighnaghi is also known as the gateway to Kakheti, Georgia’s famous wine region, where ancient winemaking traditions using clay vessels — qvevri — are still alive and well.
Though small, the town is rich in culture: you’ll find art galleries, the Niko Pirosmani Museum, and cozy family-run restaurants serving homemade wine and freshly baked khachapuri. Sighnaghi is a place made for slow walks, frequent pauses, and endless wonder — whether at the landscape or at life itself. In the photo, we see a quiet morning along the Chalaubani–Signagi–Anaga road. The warm sunlight casts long shadows, and the town's stillness is almost audible. It feels like a scene from a film — timeless and gently nostalgic.
Sighnaghi is a small Georgian hilltop town known for its romantic charm, historic walls, and stunning views over the Alazani Valley. Surrounded by vineyards and cobbled streets, it’s a cultural gem where weddings happen daily, wine flows freely, and time seems to slow down.
A long, weathered wooden pier stretches into the calm waters of Sortlandssundet, its decaying planks and moss-covered railings telling stories of time and tide. Captured from Ånstadsjøen, the view looks eastward across the sound toward Kringleveien, where snow-capped mountains rise beneath a heavy, clouded sky. The stillness of the water mirrors the quiet grandeur of the landscape, evoking a sense of solitude and timelessness in Norway’s northern fjordlands.
A peaceful moment frozen in time, where every dangle carries an echo of the past.
the rugged land of pollença, nestled deep in the mountains, felt untouched by time. the olive trees stood as old sentinels, their gnarled forms telling stories of patience and survival. rocks scattered like forgotten relics, warmed by the sun that painted soft shadows across the landscape. the air carried the scent of earth and wild herbs, a quiet hymn to nature’s endurance. here, amidst the chaos of the world, was a moment of stillness—an ode to simplicity, eternal and pure.
