RussTitelman (in the hat) is a record producer who's worked with George Harrison, Eric Clapton, Steve Winwood and James Taylor, among others. He joined Gary Wright and Ken Dashow to talk about his work with George, particularly on George's self-titled 1979 album,. which includes the hits "Blow Away" and "Love Comes To Everyone." He noted that George was relatively easy to work with, while some artists are more temperamental.

Titelman also had an interesting story about working with Eric Clapton on his 1996 album From the Cradle. After numerous takes on a guitar solo, TItelman thought Clapton had played the best possible solo he could, but Clapton wanted to do another take. Against his own instincts, Titelman did another take. Clapton played an even better solo . . .and that was the one he kept.

Ken Dashow noted how such artists have long respected craft and how too many of today's performers use computers and auto-tuning, but he was preaching to the choir. Computerized music is, alas, the bedrock of today's pop charts.

David William Sanborn (born July 30, 1945) is an American alto saxophonist. Though Sanborn has worked in many genres, his solo recordings typically blend jazz with instrumental pop and R&B. He released his first solo album Taking Off in 1975, but has been playing the saxophone since before he was in high school.

One of the most commercially successful American saxophonists to earn prominence since the 1980s, Sanborn is described by critic Scott Yannow as "the most influential saxophonist on pop, R&B, and crossover players of the past 20 years." He is often identified with radio-friendly smooth jazz, but he has expressed a disinclination for the genre and his association with it.
