The remains of an old sugar mill are the centerpiece of Bulow Plantation Ruins Historic State Park along Florida's first coast. The state park itself is a fairly small location but features the interesting remains with a small outdoor museum, a lovely wide view of tidal palm-lined Bulow Creek, the tremendously scenic Bulow Road, and also serves as a launching point for one of Florida's best trails, the Bulow Creek Loop with its primordial forest and tidal waters.
Candi Prambanan or Candi Rara Jonggrang is a 9th-century Hindu temple compound in Central Java, Indonesia, dedicated to the Trimurti, the expression of God as the Creator (Brahma), the Preserver (Vishnu) and the Destroyer (Shiva). The temple compound is located approximately 17 kilometres northeast of the city of Yogyakarta on the boundary between Central Java and Yogyakarta provinces.
The temple compound, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the largest Hindu temple site in Indonesia, and one of the biggest in Southeast Asia. It is characterized by its tall and pointed architecture, typical of Hindu temple architecture, and by the towering 47-metre-high central building inside a large complex of individual temples.

I don't normally post much architecture or many buildings, but it's been years and years since I was at this place... but yesterday we went for a short drive and wound up here :)
The friary in the grounds of Armagh palace was originally built around 1263, you can find out more about the history here... www.armagh.co.uk/place/armagh-franciscan-friary/
I liked the black and white look and even took the photo in monochrome for a more dramatic effect :)
Thank you everyone for all the lovely comments on yesterday's swan photo, I appreciate you taking the time to stop by :)

The two areas marked by remains of stone walls are all that remain of previous churches within the grounds of Hastings Castle on the cliff top above the old town. The castle survived the order to demolish it given by King John but unfortunately not that of King Henry VIII.
Old ruins just a short distance outside Clonmel, rapidly falling into further disrepair.
An old image I stumbled across looking for something else. Hope you like it.
Duffus Castle, near Elgin, Moray, Scotland, was a motte-and-bailey castle and was in use from c.1140 to 1705. During its occupation it underwent many alterations. The most fundamental was the destruction of the original wooden structure and its replacement with one of stone. At the time of its establishment, it was one of the most secure fortifications in Scotland. At the death of the 2nd Lord Duffus in 1705, the castle had become totally unsuitable as a dwelling and so was abandoned.

Pueblo Bonito is massive. As mentioned in a previous photo, I find it hard to photograph. This is part of the center section, which is a maze of walls and walkways. It must have been a busy place in its day. I have a hard time imagining what it might have looked like.
