This bud of a cyclamen looks like a rotor, it's trying to speed up spring, I guess ;-))

Even though our Rudbeckia are pretty much faded, I still have some shots of them which I took a few weeks ago. Here, I again used the other ones in the background to create a nice bokeh, where the one in the foreground looks like a rotor to me. Hope you like it!

Here you see the finished version of "Prelude". It reminds me of a rotor, so that's how it got its name.

It has a concave shape, so you are looking inside.

The other side called "Interaction" looks like this.

Folded with 'Anett paper', named after a dear origami-friend from Germany, who provided me this paper. It is indeed lovely paper for this kind of tessellations, so I am grateful to her ;-)).

Because this paper is whitish, I decided to go for a black and white version.

Grid 1:64", hexagon about 33cm, finished model about 17 cm.

If you are interested to see more, have a look at my tessellation album Origami - Tessellation Progression".

Mountain wave clouds are more rare in the summer along the Front Range of the southern Rockies, but still make an occasional appearance. These clouds are symptomatic of high winds blowing over the Continental Divide. The lower clouds are called "rotors" and show a turbulent vortex in the lower part of the wave. Here the setting sun lights up the clouds and shows off their textures and forms.

Slowed down the shutter speed here to get the rotors in motion. Captured hand held at 1/100 second.

A treasure trove of photo opportunities: the (caution: tongue-twister) Landschaftspark Duisburg-Nord, the site of a former smelting works and a cultural heritage gem.

A windmill which could not keep up with the winds! After years of weather, often strong winds occur when the blades can't keep up. Left is the heart (rotor) - still stands against the wind.

Happy Windmill Wednsday!

I was waiting for some batteries to charge for the Tiny Whoop while out droning today so thought I’d kill some time and take a few shots, here’s the portable table with some drone gear.....nice!! 💪

A nighttime install because sometimes it's too windy in the daytime

One of the most spectacular rides was on the "Hurricane" or rotor as it is sometimes called. When you look at this photograph you'll know what I mean. There are people up there!

While waiting for some work to be done on my Jeep, I asked the owner of the shop if I could wander around and capture a few photons. He said "go ahead". So I did.

We had one of these as a kid. Who here remembers what it was used for?

An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), commonly known as a drone, is an aircraft without a human pilot aboard. Civil drones are used in aerial cinematography and photography applications. Today's professional drones are very powerful, they can fly at 80 km/h, at the same time, they can feature big cameras on board, such as: Panasonic GH4, Canon 5D, but also Red Dragon or Arri Alexa. The drone ability to fly is given by the multi-rotor system and its stabilization is calculated by very sophisticated flight controller. Professional drone propellers are able to turn up to 10000 rpm, for the comparison: this speed is twice as big as a string trimmer's one! But, the propellers are the carbon blades ! So, it's necessary to "Handle with Care" every single drone.

This capture is a rotor / propeller coming from DJI S 900 drone.

Another shot of a tilt-rotor aircraft (can operate as a helicopter or rotate engines and fly like a fixed-wing airplane)... flying over the Colorado River - Parker, Arizona.

Tilt-rotor is a class of aircraft capable of vertical take-off and landing.

Its still not completely finished, still need to find one piece and do a total photoshoot (white background and all) but since I'm leaving for the weekend here is a sneak preview.

Also, please if you have ANY suggestions, tell them to me now :) thanks

What it is , a passing Chinook !!

The Boeing Chinook is a large, tandem rotor helicopter operated by the Royal Air Force (RAF). A series of variants based on the United States Army's Boeing CH-47 Chinook, the RAF Chinook fleet is the largest outside the United States. RAF Chinooks have seen extensive service including fighting in the Falklands War, peace-keeping commitments in the Balkans, Northern Ireland and action in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.

The Chinook aircraft, normally based at RAF Odiham, provides heavy-lift support and transport across all branches of the British armed forces. The RAF has a total of 60 Chinooks in active inventory as of 2015. In 2018, the UK issued a request to the United States to purchase 16 additional aircraft. The Chinook is expected to remain in RAF service until the 2040s.

Thank goodness they announce their coming and then you get a chance to get into a good position to grab a couple of shots , the only info I got on this one is that it came from Bournemouth way .
