June 19, 2014 - Honorary Chairs Mayor Martin Walsh and Lorrie Higgins hosted the 2014 Rose Garden Party in the Back Bay Fens. The elegant social event benefits a year round series of free arts, cultural, fitness and science based programs in the City of Boston's park system.

Taken at the Duluth Rose garden on London Road. Got a few strange looks from folks seeing me with flashlight and camera in the dark. Light is provided by a simple LED flashlight.

This is not what I expected. For awhile, it was a red, almost pink rose. But as soon as the sun is out after a few weeks of rain, this is what happened... a yellow rose
One of the most famous legend of the Dolomites is the one on the dwarf King Laurin and his beautiful rose garden. As the king lost the battle against Dietrich von Bern he bewitched the garden, saying that nobody in future should ever be able to see the beauty of the rose garden, neither by day nor by night. But he forgot the dusk and so the splendour of the garden can still be seen today when the mountain, which is called the “Rose garden” (“Rosengarten”) is hit by the last rays of the red sun just about to set.
