Chaenomeles Japonica
Chaenomeles japonica, called the Japanese quince or Maule's quince, is a species of flowering quince that is native to Japan. It is a thorny deciduous shrub that is commonly cultivated. It is shorter than another commonly cultivated species C. speciosa, growing to only about 1 m in height. It is best known for its colorful spring flowers of red, white, pink or multi.

During a cycling trip in spring in the woods near Driebergen we encountered the sloe in bloom.
The blackthorn, or sloe (Prunus spinosa) is a 2-6 m tall Rosaceae bush (Rosaceae). The species is naturally occurring in the Benelux, where the plant mainly occurs along forest edges. The wood is very hard.
The prominent bloom is before leaves, from March to April, and pollination takes place by insects, especially by the bee.

Lockdown walk in Parc Roi Baudouin - Koning Boudewijnpark
King Baudouin Park was created in 1977 in order to protect one of the last remaining examples of the natural landscape of Brabant in the Brussels Region. This initiative also enabled the creation of a landscape extending over more than 100 hectares and bringing together the magnificent beech woods of Laerbeek, Poelbos and Dieleghem, with meadows, marshland, ponds and grassy expanses. In the lower section, an English-style Romantic landscaped park was developed; this encompasses the garden of the Institut du Sacré-Cœur and the floor of the Molenbeek Valley. Wide lawns bordered by flowerbeds, isolated trees, water features and beds of great mannagrass, home to frogs, newts, common reed buntings, Eurasian reed warblers and numerous fish, surround a watermill fish pond, one of the last remaining vestiges of the Abbey of Dieleghem. Higher up, hedgerows of hazel bush, holly, hawthorn, blackthorn and hornbeam encircle the remaining pastureland, orchard, vegetable gardens and fields of crops, recreating a unique bucolic atmosphere on the edge of the city. A neo-Norman style cottage, built in 1908 by the Liège-based architect Charles Castermans for the lawyer Eugène Van den Elschen, now houses a café, a popular stopping point for walkers.
El Cruce de los Lagos Andinos es un viaje que se realiza saliendo desde Puerto Varas a Bariloche cruzando cuatro lagos de la patagonia Chilena y Argentina (Llanquihue, Todos Los Santos y Lago Frias, Nahuel Huapi en Argentina). El recorrido se hace combinando buses y catamaranes a ambos lados de la Cordillera de Los Andes pasando por Peulla. El recorrido permite ver paisajes de increible belleza escenica de gran fama internacional que lo hace muy solicitado por turistas extranjeros que visitan la region.
Peulla (en mapudungun Brotes de Primavera) es un pequeño puerto lacustre en la orilla más occidental del lago Todos los Santos en la comuna de Puerto Varas, con 120 habitantes. Este puerto se encuentra muy cerca de la frontera con Argentina, está a 26 Km del paso internacional Pérez Rosales y el paso Vuriloche. Aqui se puede realizar diferentes excursiones para conocer las bellezas de la zona y se ubican los hoteles Natura y Peulla este último con casi 100 años de antiguedad.

The Andean Lake Crossing is a journey departing from Puerto Varas to Bariloche crossing four lakes of Chilean Patagonia and Argentina (Llanquihue and Todos Los Santos, Frias and Nahuel Huapi lakes in Argentina). The tour is made by combining buses and catamarans on both sides of the Andes through Peulla. The travel permit to see awesome scenic beauty landscapes cause its international reputation makes it very requested by foreign tourists visiting the region.
Peulla (in mapudungun Spring Buds) is a small lake port on the western shore of Lake Todos los Santos in the Puerto Varas county, with 120 inhabitants. This port is located very close to the Argentinian border just 26 km from the international pass Perez Rosales and Vuriloche step. Here you can take tours to see the beauty of the area and the Natura and Peulla hotels the latest almost 100 years old.

In Vallvidrera, sitting above the Collserola range dominating Barcelona, there are some fine art nouveau style houses. This one is Torre Rosales, built in 1905-1907.
