After seeing how Gomitta edited a couple of my San Francisco pics, I felt I keep up the momentum and expand on my little Haight Street story. I used to live in the upper Haight (amongst other corners of San Francisco) and this place was a big touch-and-go point for my music shopping. Being a DJ for 15 years I will never turn my back on the vinyl. I do have to say there are good reasons to go digital now a days, with all the neat technology...but nothing can replace what Vinyl did for my music development. My years spinning house music in LA and San Francisco were build upon the old solid "blocks" of wax. There are only a few record stores open in both San Francisco and LA... and my hats off to the guys left standing. I went up to San Francisco to do a report on the local economy and I had the privilege to speak with the staff at Tweakin and they were so kind enough to let me shoot the store both inside an out. The next picture above this post will will have a shot of the interior.

Once again Ron Trent took Amsterdam by storm. This time during an all nighter @ Somewhere in Amsterdam, organised by the sweet folks of Rush Hour.

A known concept, a new location: Somewhere in Amsterdam. For the first time in "Old School" in Amsterdam-Zuid. I don't think I ever missed an edition but this was definitely one of the better ones. With Volcov, Sadar Bahar and Ron Trent, who returned with a glorious set after more than a decade of absense in the Dutch clubs.

What a great vibe, what a relaxed crowd and what an unforgetable night.

This is possibly one of my favourite pieces of music of all time. Whenever noisy Techno DJs were trying to sabotage my set by playing speeded up climactic monsters before I came on, I'd let their track run right to the end, leave a two second gap of silence, then drop 'Altered States' - was guaranteed to get people whistling and back on a proper groove.
