Last one for tonight...but I've got a pile of albums ready to go. I ran across the sleeveface pool just yesterday, and I'm really amused by the concept.

Strobist Info: One SB600 in umbrella camera left, triggered with Cactus V2s.

I knew right away that this was going to be a motherfucker of a group.

The shadow of your smile - Ron Carter

One day we walked along the sand

One day in early spring

You held a piper in your hand

To mend its broken wing

Now I'll remember many a day

And many a lonely mile

The echo of a piper's song

The shadow of a smile

The shadow of your smile

When you are gone

Will color all my dreams

And light the dawn

Look into my eyes

My love and see

All the lovely things

You are to me

The last sculpture that stood in this spot was struck by lightning and engulfed in flames..... what fate does this one face? "Lux Mundi", designed by Tom Tsuchiya was dedicated in September, however, locals are starting to call this the Hug Me Jesus or the Footlong Jesus

Ron Carter w/Herbie Hancock and Tony Williams - ‘Third Plane’ 😎

This last Saturday I got the chance to see one of my favorite musicians ever: Jazz master bassist Ron Carter.

Over the course of his life, Ron Carter has played with Jazz musicians such as Miles Davis, and is considered to be the most-recorded bassists in jazz history. Nowadays he is touring his album "The Golden Striker" as the leader of a magical trio consisting of Russel Malone and Steven Scott.

One of my favorites from "The Golden Striker" album is this song here.

Here's a special edition of The Pace Report featuring exclusive coverage of "Jazz for Obama 2012" put together by pianist and composer Aaron Goldberg. Aaron has again put together some of cream of the crop of the jazz community in a all-star gala to raise money for the re-relection campaign for President Barack Obama. This year's special performances include Jimmy Heath, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Joe Lovano, Roy Haynes, Aaron Goldberg, Brad Meldhau, and endless others. Enjoy and do your part by going out and voting on November 6, 2012.
