Last one for tonight...but I've got a pile of albums ready to go. I ran across the sleeveface pool just yesterday, and I'm really amused by the concept.

I knew right away that this was going to be a motherfucker of a group.

The shadow of your smile - Ron Carter
One day we walked along the sand
One day in early spring
You held a piper in your hand
To mend its broken wing
Now I'll remember many a day
And many a lonely mile
The echo of a piper's song
The shadow of a smile
The shadow of your smile
When you are gone
Will color all my dreams
And light the dawn
Look into my eyes
My love and see
All the lovely things
You are to me

This last Saturday I got the chance to see one of my favorite musicians ever: Jazz master bassist Ron Carter.
Over the course of his life, Ron Carter has played with Jazz musicians such as Miles Davis, and is considered to be the most-recorded bassists in jazz history. Nowadays he is touring his album "The Golden Striker" as the leader of a magical trio consisting of Russel Malone and Steven Scott.
One of my favorites from "The Golden Striker" album is this song here.
