Roller Disco at Ridge Road Recreational Park in April 2023. Photos by Tony Ventouris and Ed Wondoloski.
The High Roller is Las Vegas' very own Ferris wheel taking you 500+ feet over the vegas strip. It didn't seem like it was too busy, which was very confusing cause all of us enjoyed the view over the city, and if you look out towards the distance you'll notice that the lights never stop, and I've only got a portion of the city in my viewfinder, there are still WAAAY more lights out there.

This photo is part of a short photo documentary I did while traveling through Hawaii. These girls were part of several teams competing in a series of roller derby sessions in Honolulu. This photo was shot using a Leica M6ttl with a 90mm Elmar lens. Film was Kodachrome and developed by Dwayne's Photo in Kansas

feb 18th ! im sore from feist show. had 3 hours of sleep. i want coffee. i’ve already changed my clothes 3 times.
I'm not actually set up, technique-wise or equipment-wise for shooting sports. So I have a lot of bad shots.
But one of my coworkers and his wife were visiting from out of town and wanted to see Roller Derby, which therefore meant that I'd have an appropriately geekly audience to watch with. So I helped transport him safely (my other coworkers snicker, considering that I drove him) to the rink and back from his hotel.
He was, of course, impressed by the well oiled San Francisco Bay Area weirdness-industrial complex which includes people who will attend events far out of the mainstream and sponsors that don't think twice about sponsoring roller derby.
Alternate Title: How I spent my Summer Vacation, by Jamie Swan. This series of images document my recent refurbishing of a set of bicycle racing rollers that were originally made by members of the Long Island Wheelmen's Association in the mid 20th Century. www.youtube.com/watch?v=YAZBpgdyZpM
