Note: I don't know what caused the damage, but this red roll-off (dumpster) got hit pretty hard from the inside. Since they are used to collect and haul scrap metal, I guess some pretty big machinery bumps into the sides during the loading and unloading processes.
Whatever the source, I think the results are great ... well ... at least for photographers. From the point of impact, the red paint splintered, cracked and peeled ... generating a great texture for you and me to play with. Cool!
This roll-off has been replaced by a green one, so as soon as I have the time, I'll check it out for possible textures resulting from big bangs.
I'm impressed that the scrap metal industry generates so much beauty. Of course, the roll-off owners may see all of that rust and peeling paint as an expense, but there's no denying that roll-offs are capable of taking on great forms of beauty between paint jobs.
