Woody Guthrie.
Looking eastbound from the ridge near Ponytail Falls. The river runs 1,200 miles from British Columbia through seven states to the Pacific Ocean.
Across the river on the Washington state side, Beacon Rock is visible. The rock is the remains of a volcano. During the Missoula floods the surrounding terrain was eroded by the violent floodwaters, leaving this volcanic plug. Named by Captain Clark of the Lewis and Clark Expedition, the rock is 848' tall, with a one mile trail to the top for outstanding views of the river.
I-84 is the interstate freeway running along the river from Portland, Oregon.

Without means to escape the looming bloodbath, her demon orb came levitating with a flick of her finger. "I guess a fight is inevitable," she said in a somewhat calm voice as the orb started to glow bright red. "I hope you're ready to perish. Don't worry... I'll do it fast and painless... /hopefully/."

Through the rain the sunlight warms my heart
Fragrance sweet, a memory it calls from afar
Tears of joy flowing deep from my soul
All around, I can feel new life unfold
Up ahead, can't you see, fills the sky up above
Breathe the air, oh so sweet, all that I've waited for
Celebrate the new life that we see
I close my eyes and I feel you near to me
On this day a brand new song to sing
Thankful for all the gifts that spring will bring
Oh so dear, you hold a place in my heart
I feel you near, we've been too long apart
Through the years seasons promise anew
Loyal friend, 'til the end, I'll be waiting for you
Up ahead, can't you see, how the future unfolds
Breathe the air, oh so sweet, all that I've waited for
Celebrate the joyous days to come
On the green grasses we are free to run
I feel your touch and I can hear you sing
Thankful for all the gifts that spring will bring
Celebrate this young and fragile dream
Don't you know this is where I'll always be
As I walk along this lonely road
Your spirit it dances around me
Like a river that flows on endlessly
Like a flower the love you give to me
Celebrate the new life that we see
Close my eyes, I can feel you near to me
On this day a brand new song to sing
Thankful for all the gifts that spring will bring
Celebrate the joyous days to come
On the green grasses we are free to run
I feel your touch and I can hear you sing
Thankful for all the gifts that spring will bring
Celebrate the new life that we see
Close my eyes, I can feel you near to me
I feel your touch and I can hear you sing
Thankful for all the gifts that spring will bring

Jenny said when she was just five years old
You know there's nothing happening at all
Every time she puts on the radio
There was nothing goin' down at all
Then one fine mornin' she puts on a New York station
She couldn't believe what she heard at all
She started dancin' to that fine fine music
You know her life was saved by Rock 'n' Roll
Seilbahnumlenkstation
Cable Car Diverter Station
Museum Park Ruedersdorf
From 1953, a cable car transported the limestone from the eastern part of the opencast mine to the cement works at a height of around 10 m. Since the cable car should not cross any residential area, a cable car diverter station was built. Their construction had to be able to withstand the enormous pull of the taut wire ropes and the load of the wagons loaded with limestone.
Little Feat: Let it Roll
Whenever I’m swamped by a wave I’ve always instinctively with one hand on the tripod taken the photo. It can be very disorientating when the wave whooshes round the calfs and the balance goes with the wave as the stones and pebbles rollback to the sea, but it can be the moment of most drama and if you’ve managed to stop any camera movement the better image.

A fern is a member of a group of vascular plants that reproduce via spores and have neither seeds nor flowers. They differ from mosses by being vascular, i.e., having specialized tissues that conduct water and nutrients, in having branched stems and in having life cycles in which the sporophyte is the dominant phase. Like other vascular plants, ferns have complex leaves called megaphylls, that are more complex than the microphylls of clubmosses. Most ferns are leptosporangiate ferns, sometimes referred to as true ferns. They produce coiled fiddleheads that uncoil and expand into fronds. The group includes about 10,560 known extant species.
Ferns first appear in the fossil record about 360 million years ago in the late Devonian period, but many of the current families and species did not appear until roughly 145 million years ago in the early Cretaceous, after flowering plants came to dominate many environments. The fern Osmunda claytoniana is a paramount example of evolutionary stasis; paleontological evidence indicates it has remained unchanged, even at the level of fossilized nuclei and chromosomes, for at least 180 million years.

Roll the Dice
Roll the Dice
The cobblestones lie on the ground like scattered dice. For now, there is only chaos, but soon they will find their place in a new order. For a brief moment, it remains a silent game of shapes and chance.
