I tried dropping the sky in from another image because the sky was white and it was raining today here in Dublin... a little more practice and it should get easier and quicker.
Don't zoom in or you will see my wee mistakes!!! lol
Not long after sunset bright right red Aurora became quickly visible. Soon the sky was filled with color. Really incredible display.

anyways, i just got my new lens in the mail today. Its a rokinon 8mm fisheye. I orginally got it for shooting skateboarding, but i think it will prove most versatile.
also:
i know this idea has been done before, but i wanted to try it out because of my new lens

This is a shot of the Philly Art Museum from the back. Shot with the Rokinon 14mm 2.8, handheld. For a lens that I only paid $200 for, I mean, wow!
This is about 3 hours worth of exposures on the Cygnus Loop, aka Veil Nebula from Bortle 3 skies. Clearly was not enough integration to expose the extremely dim parts of the complex, but the beautiful pink and blue colors show wonderfully. This is an incredibly dense starfield and I now understand why many opt for star reduction techniques in editing to bring out nebulous contrast more. However, this is not processes that way. Natural colors and no intentional star reduction.
Taken on a canon rebel t3i and Rokinon 135mm lens at F/2.8. Fluctuating temperatures throughout the night prompted me to stop down the lens a bit so I would not have to worry about temperature dependent focus adjustment.
- www.kevin-palmer.com - The clouds and the bright moonlight did not cooperate on this night to allow me to see the aurora. I only caught a dim green glow barely peaking through.
