Rocks and water old love

Late day light on the pretty rocks along the Atlantic Ocean.

The Sancti Petri lighthouse is located on the coast of Cádiz in southern Spain. This day was special because of the color that the clouds acquired just as the sun disappeared.

A rocky outcropping hugs the side of a road in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Tennessee.

Plenty of other neat views beyond the arches there in Arches National Park.

How nature finds a foothold anywhere, in this case by wrapping itself around the rocks

These are rock piers that are jutting out to Botany Bay. Near sunset saw the light bouncing off these green rocks. The water ripples and reflection also had nice tones. Overall a nice effect. PB250029 ac

Another from last week, this time a tad further back to get the rocks in the foreground with some nice light

Breezy but peaceful hour or so spent this evening on some favourite rocks at St. Mary's Island, Whitley Bay, Tyne & Wear.

The view while driving Grand Circuit of Bariloche to meet Lago Traful

Whilst waiting for the golden hour to turn to the blue hour, I spent some time photographing the small waves crashing into the rocks. I only realised when editing the photos what amazing colours the seaweed and rocks had.

Least Sandpiper-DSC_7045 - A Least Sandpiper (I believe) walks on the rocky shores of Ile aux Perroquets in the Mingan Archipelago in Quebec.

After our visit to Emsworthy Barn on Sunday evening, we walked up the hill to Emsworthy Rocks for sunset. These rocks and tree have been photographed countless times, and often get confused for either Saddle Tor or Holwell Tor, in fact, they are between the two.

There was a lot of high cloud above us at sunset but unfortunately a huge bank of misty cloud further to the west snuffed out any chance of a nice pink sky. We ended up with a pretty dull grey sunset, but a little while after there was a hint of pink showing further to the South.

I've gone for a classic composition to include the colour in the sky, I originally had a different view lined up but didn't like how the sky looked.

View there along the coast of Maine at West Quoddy Head.

These have an imaginative similarity with a bleak and vast Gothic Cathedral with doors and windows carved through the rock face by the actions of the sea and a top "window" in the shape of a broken star

Long exposure--Great Falls, Maryland

Just amazing light, wet conditions and a rainbow there in this area of the Dolly Sods in West Virginia. Worth getting wet in that rain that fell for about 10 minutes. Keeping the lens dry so the images were not impacted and not slipping on the rocks in that wet condition as I scrambled about was the real challenge.

After the glorious rainbow (flic.kr/p/Zg1he1 / flic.kr/p/UjrS8A), the clouds from the dissipating thunderstorm reflected the last rays of the setting sund and made the sky explode with colors.

Thanks for all your faves and comments.
