A photoshopped version of the shot taken in the Glenbrook Creek gorge, part of Blue Mtns National Park. This fellow was one of a pair that I followed for about half an hour as they worked their way along a section of the gorge, covering a couple of hundred metres in that time. They were quite confiding and not troubled by my attention.
Rock Warblers are the only birds endemic to NSW, in fact they are only found in the Sydney sandstone region where they are very well suited.

This is a Rock Hyrax, locally known as a Dassie (from Old Dutch dasje, meaning ‘badger’).
Believe it or not, they’re the closest living relative to the modern-day elephant and sea cow. All three animal groups – elephants, sea cows and Dassies – descended from a common ancestor millions of years ago and therefore share physiological similarities in teeth, leg and foot bones.
The nooks and crannies of Table Mountain provide the perfect habitat, offering easy escape from their arch-enemy, the Black Eagle. They live in colonies of up to 80 individuals, divided into several families (harems) comprising 3 to 15 adult females, a single dominant male and several young. The soles of their feet consist of soft pads kept moist with a sticky secretion that facilitates heat loss and provides traction on rock surfaces, aiding in their agility.
Dassies love to bask in the morning sun due to poor heat-regulation and a low metabolism. They rely on sentries, posted on vantage points, to warn them against danger, the chief one being the Black Eagle. The raptors usually attack from the direction of the sun, making use of the blinding light to avoid detection. Evolution has provided Dassies with a unique membrane over the eye that shields the pupil against the sun, enabling them to spot attacking eagles.

The Brown Rock Chat or Indian Chat (Cercomela fusca) is a bird in the chat (Saxicolinae) subfamily and is found mainly in northern and central India and only extends slightly into northeastern Pakistan. It is often found on old buildings and rocky areas. It resembles a female Indian Robin but lacks the reddish vent and differs in posture and behaviour apart from being larger. In flight it bears some resemblance to thrushes and redstarts. It feeds on insects, captured mainly on the ground.

(Apologies if it appears that I have added this image to some groups twice - I have subtly tweaked and renamed it).
The rock hyrax (Procavia capensis) or Cape hyrax is one of the four living species of the order Hyracoidea.
Hyraxes are well-furred, rotund creatures with short tails. Most measure between 30 and 70 cm long and weigh between 2 and 5 kg. They are often mistaken for rodents, but in actuality are more closely related to elephants.
