Went to Lyme Regis in West Dorset to try and see the Purple Sandpipers that normally hang around the Cobb Harbour area this time of the year but no sightings for me today.
Kannesteinen Rock in Måløy Norway
The sea has been beating against this rock for thousands of years, shaping it into the "mushroom-like" appearance it has today.
Kannesteinen rock is in Oppedal, 10 kilometres from the centre of Måløy.

Interesting things about this Scottish Castle.....
The legendary wizard, Merlin, whose fame lies in the legends of King Arthur, is said to have visited Dumbarton Castle during the 6th century. But it wasn't exactly King Arthurs' Merlin that was here, but his real-life counterpart - Myrddin Wyllt who lived between 540 and 584AD.
This Scottish castle was an important royal refuge and is said to have been the hiding place for the young Mary Queen of Scots, before she fled to France at the age of 5.
William Wallace may have been held prisoner here
The Dumbarton Rock itself is legally protected by the Scottish Government and is a recognized Ancient Monument
This may be the longest-standing military stronghold in the UK, as the first fortress may have been there at the time the Romans left Britain (approx. 367 AD), and as recently as World War II it was still home to a military base.

……It was a while after starting to edit this shot before I realised it was taken on my phone! I’d forgotten how good they are now - note to self, use it more often! Press Z or click on image to zoom in - Here you can see three of the Rock Houses, these are in an elevated position looking out from Kinver Edge which is is a 250-million-year-old sandstone escarpment on the border between Worcestershire and Staffordshire, they were occupied for around 200 years and housed up to 11 families with the last to leave in about 1960! They are now looked after by the National Trust - see 1st comment box for an inside view…..

It's huge, it's complex, it's iconic, there is nothing like it anywhere
else in the world and it's right here in Cashel at the heart of Tipperary, Ireland.Long before the Norman invasion The Rock of Cashel was the seat of the High Kings of Munster.
This is the beautiful Stavanger Cathedral that I passed on a walk around the town. The stonework was amazing! “Stavanger Cathedral is Norway’s oldest cathedral and is considered the country’s best-preserved medieval cathedral.
It was built around 1125 and dedicated to Saint Swithun.
The cathedral has been in continuous use since the 1300s and remains the seat of the Diocese of Stavanger.
It is the only Norwegian cathedral from the Middle Ages that has largely retained its original appearance.”
Another rock pipit I came across during my trip to Cornwall. This one had chosen the single life feeding with purple sandpipers instead of other pipits
At the beach yesterday I noticed some very beautiful yellow rock flowers near the beach. Pretty amazing for late June. :D

A strikingly marked, adult male Western Netted Dragon (Ctenophorus reticulatus) surveys his territory from a stone adjacent to the shallow burrow he has excavated on a slightly elevated roadside verge situated on a vast gibber plain in the arid north of South Australia.
"Baby, I need you till the morning
I hear my body calling
So keep the party rocking all night
Baby, oh, we can skip the talking
You know there's only one thing tonight
So won’t you come rock my body?
Baby, I need you till the morning
I hear my body calling
So keep the party rocking all night
Baby, oh, we can skip the talking
You know there's only one thing tonight
So won't you come rock my body?
Coming in, coming in, so, so hot
Loving it, loving it, non, non stop
Another round, round
We double down, down
Bittersweet, bittersweet, one more shot
Let me see, let me see what you got
I want it right now
Yeah
Baby, I want you
So won’t you come rock my body?
Body, body
Won't you come rock my body?
Baby, I need you till the morning
I hear my body calling
So keep the party rocking all night
Baby, oh, we can skip the talking
You know there's only one thing tonight
So won't you come rock my body?
It's in the air just breathe it in
Another rush, just kicking in
Under the lights, I feel you near
I want you close, I want you here
It's in the air, it's in the air
Baby, I need you till the morning
I hear my body calling
So keep the party rocking all night
Baby, oh, we can skip the talking
You know there's only one thing tonight
So won’t you come rock my body?
Baby, I need you till the morning
I hear my body calling
So keep the party rocking all night
Baby, oh, we can skip the talking
You know there’s only one thing tonight
So won't you come rock my body?
Won’t you come rock my body?
Won't you come rock my body?"

We are going to see The Lesko Stone :)
The Lesko Stone is a distinctive rock formation in the forest near the city of Lesko in the Bieszczady Mountains in Poland. It is most likely a result of glacial movements in the area and the whole formation is believed to have been carried to the present site by a glacier. The stone is over 20 m tall and is entirely a work of erosion. Its peculiar shape was further pronounced as the area was a small rock quarry in past centuries. Despite being an environmentally protected site it is often scaled by climbers and outdoor enthusiasts. It can be reached by following a lengthy tourist trail from Lesko or from a road roughly 91 m away. The stone is an important aspect of local culture with a number of legends related to its shape and origin. The most popular of those is related to the 16th century church in Lesko which claims the stone is a remnant of a failed attempt by the devil to destroy Christianity in the area. A variation of this story links the stone to a number of monasteries in the area. Many more legends exist and some of them are told on plaques currently fixed to the stone.

Also known as Don Whillans Memorial Hut.
We almost missed this unusual building on our walk. The Cottage is private so you can't get to close.
I've spent the past hour reading up on the history and the most interesting "possible fact" was an old crone lived in the cave(which now has a door) until she was nearly 100 back in the late 1800's!
