This customized model by Bernard Houle is truely cool! Simply amazing! I am sooo looking forward to see this completed at the next show. A work of beauty!

This is a Jeep CJ5, manufacturer is AMT/ERTL (so its lacking detail in other words). This was sold as a 'mud bogger' or something like that, and comes with terrible little tires, and lots of badly manufactured plastic crap. I am skipping all the garbage and going to add my own modifications.

Putting a large handelbar fairing on the project would allow me to hide a Mab 380 motor on the front end to give me a chain drive front wheel ( Three wheel steering and drive) ROCKCRAWLER!!!

This Toyota Tacoma had it down, easily crawling up the toughest lines on Potato Salad Hill during Big Saturday at the Moab Easter Jeep Safari 2012. (c) 2012 Tom Kelly

I got the idea for this from someone on the forums at www.modelcarsmag.com

He took a monster truck (similar to the one I had) and chopped the chassis/cage way down to the scale of a rockcrawling machine. Fantastic idea! I had this silly 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle' truck that I picked up for $5, and I had no idea what I could do with it.

The tires are from Aoshima (Super Swamper), I don't remember what the wheels are from.. Must have been one of my dad's muscle cars, as two are deeper than the others (wider for the rear).

New Technic set for 2012.

The latest evolution of my Landrover Defender based lego truck trialler.

Though the cut-down bodywork may be similar to it's predecessor the chassis is entirely new.

Designed to use either a rechargeable or traditional 6 AA battery pack in a revised, lower position to drop the centre of gravity as low as possible.

The spec is 4x4, 4-link suspension and independent, counter-rotating, right and left drivetrains powered by 2 pf xl motors. This allows skid steering and prevents driveshaft torque twisting the the axles under load, thus allowing softer more supple suspension to be used.....

The scale is pretty close to 1:10
