Midwest Generation #16. EMD SW1200, built in August 1964.
As far as I know, it usually operates via radio control.
There's an ancient SW1 here too, but I never see it running.
Robo is an amazing story of friendship between a boy and a robot. Where a whole new world opens up for both of them. The boy learns to be strong and courageous, and the robot, initially devoid of feelings, begins to empathize and experience real human emotions.
I went a little crazy with my Heidi Swapp ink sprays. I used red & black (the school colors) plus tinsel & bronze which are robot colors. I really like this grunge look for a high school robotic page.
This page is based on the June sketch at Sketchy Saturday at Paper Issues (paperissues.blogspot.com/)
With the spray dots, gears & stamped circles, I felt I really was going dotty so I entered the "We're Going Dotty" Wednesday challenge at Simon Says Stamp (www.simonsaysstampblog.com/)
The stamped circles and the gears were inspired by the wind mill and all the ink sprays were inspired by the July inspiration challenge at ARTastic (artasticchallengeblog.blogspot.com/)
products:
gears - Creative Embellishments
ink spray - Heidi Swapp
stamps - Stampendous, Tim Holtz
ink - versafine
paper - Lifestyle

Here we have the Robo-Guardian from the Spyrius subtheme of Lego Space. As a kid, this was my absolute favorite Lego set that I owned. I've always been a huge fan of giant robots, and this was easily the coolest of the era.
Owing to their name, the Spyrius focused on interstellar espionage rather than combat. Many sets focused on collecting and transporting small "data pad" tiles. The Robo-Guardian is no exception to this, as we'll soon see.
