Giant Robo made by SEGA in 2002. There is no marking of the manufacturer. About 13 inches tall. Taken together is one of the Giant Robo VHS tapes I got back in 1994.
I have a small amount of time to walk around, in between setting up our booth on Preview Night, and when the Con opens for business. A lot of companies are still setting up their props, and there are forklifts and other heavy-wheeled devices rolling through the aisles - so I risked danger to get a few snaps (you're welcome...) since I honestly don't know what I'll be able to see later.
It's not quite on a level with the life-sized Watchmen Owl-Ship 2 years ago, but I'll take it.

Robo is on a mission. The Ultimate Superheroes and Villians are no match for him. He must destroy those who had wronged him, before something terrible happens to our planet. But with a daemon slowly consuming his mechanical soul, will he make it to save the last child in time? Or will he turn to the darkness forever?
This performer from Chennai had silver paint all over him and he did some awesome dance stuff. He was also rather tall -- 6' plus, fo shizzle -- so he had a good stage presence.
Getting these dance shots was an adventure. From where I was sitting, I realised that the lens went hyperfocal at a distance just above 15 feet. So, I set the lens to MF, used Auto ISO with min-shutter set to 1/60s and happily clicked with spot metering. In many shots, I selected 1/60s speed in M mode. Got mixed results with both settings since the light conditions were changing all the time
There are always loads of weird experiments hangin' around the studio. Its like an old victorian freak show.
