My alternate build of set 70808 Bad Cop's Pursuit. Part of my review on New Elementary. bit.ly/NE40123
The shape of this metal object and the big eye reminded me of the head of a right whale - it's probably just the way I think and the fact that I like whales...
This is one of my custom US Army BATs. I figured robots would make a great choice as gunners at GI Joe Arctic Command, where no one wants to be out in the freezing wind.
I was lucky to catch one of the adventures little puppys getting some of the baby-food we offered Phoebe. They are really big already and I assume they just opened their eyes because one of its eyes looks a bit strange .. kinda half-opened .. i hope there is nothing wrong with the kiddo :(
The 3 articulation points in the neck worked out a lot better than the legs. There's a turntable burried inside the neck base. An axle just fits perfectly between those fence slats.

My interpretation of Santa Claus, complete with rocket boots for rooftop fall prevention.
I was pretty happy with the articulation in the arms and hands.
The Ex Gokin Series, Getter Robo 1. Awesome updated designs, w/ a few flaws in the execution (primarily the chest & back swivel).
I really need to geat a Break Jaw fig and some more building time, because I'd like to flesh this out some more. :D
Some early Christmas present idea style self-promotion. This design is available as a Christmas card from HERE
Action Toys remake of the Machine Robo series that came to the US as Gobots. They keep the same blocky aesthetic but have improved articulation
I had wondered about the amazing airshows buzzing overhead during the ultimate Frisbee games at Stanford. I just learned today that they are part of an AI research project, and the helicopters are flying without any humans in the loop.
Other than takeoff and landing, the entire acrobatic flight is controlled by computer. And the aerobatics are more diverse and complex than any other autonomous aircraft, on par with what a human expert could do. (Stanford site with cool videos)
The robot learns a dynamic model for flight by watching others. It observes the trajectories of several sub-optimal human attempts, and compiles a generalization of the trick maneuvers.
This approach could be used for a wide variety of robots. Made me wish I was back in school. Seeing them dance in the sky, I have just the robot to train next!
