"The Jackie Robinson Parkway is a 4.95-mile parkway in the New York City boroughs of Brooklyn and Queens....The parkway was officially named the Interboro Parkway until 1997, when it was renamed for trailblazing Major League Baseball player Jackie Robinson." A Sunday Like No Other.. There are much people at Gadgi beach (Paita, New Caledonia, South Pacific) this Sunday morning. A couple moved away from the crowd, just to have a little privacy. The wreck of the vessel Mélanésia should be a good shelter for a nap.

The Jonckheere is a PSG Models resin kit which has required a fair amount of modification to achieve, particularly to the roof pod which started out as a block of smooth resin and has been rather brutally carved and cursed and replaced with a Plasticard construction more in keeping with the actual thing.

But overall it has made a decent model of the prototype, one of a pair operated by Holdsworth Robinsons Holidays of Great Harwood, Blackburn - BU14 EPF.

There are a couple of areas still not completely right - not happy with the windscreen for example - and which will be looked at again eventually.

Meantime, another one for my own collection.

"Sono molto felice di aver trovato questo selvaggio, perché da 26 anni non parlavo con un essere umano. Lo chiamerò Venerdì e ne farò il mio servo". Questi erano i pensieri di Robinson, tipico uomo civile del quindicesimo secolo.

"Quest'uomo anziano mi ha salvato la vita ed io mi prenderò cura di lui".

Questi erano i pensieri di Venerdì. Facile concludere chi dei due era la vera persona civile!!!

"I am very happy to have found this wild, because for 26 years I did not speak with a human being. I'll call him on Friday and I'll do my servant". These were the thoughts of Robinson, typical civilized man of the fifteenth century.

"This elderly man saved my life and I will take care of him".

These were the thoughts of Friday. Easy to conclude which of the two was the real person civil !!!

Taken from the top of the Newlands Pass.

Robinson is a fell in the English Lake District, its southern slopes descending to Buttermere, while its northern side is set in the Newlands Valley. Paths lead to the summit from the village of Buttermere, from the nearby summit Dale Head and from various locations in the valleys to the north.

According to influential guidebook author Alfred Wainwright,[1] the name Robinson comes from a Richard Robinson who purchased estates in the Buttermere area many centuries ago. These included this unnamed hill which was then called "Robinson's Fell", later shortened to Robinson.

Attached directly to the southwest corner of the Temple Mount, was a monumental staircase which provided access to the temple complex from the Herodian street below. Known as Robinson’s Arch, after 19th century Biblical scholar Edward Robinson, the structure was unusually wide and had undoubtedly served as a crucial pathway at what was once a bustling ancient intersection. Here, the esplanade of the Huldah Gates met with the Herodian street running north-south, as well as streets leading down the Tyropoeon Valley and up toward the Upper City. Integral to the function of Robinson’s Arch was the accessibility it provided to the Royal Stoa above. Having been an addition made to the Temple Mount under Herod, the Royal Stoa was not widely considered to be a sacred space, and therefore open to public activities such as trading and legal procedures – both in keeping with the function of everyday Roman basilicas at the time. Consequently, it stands to reason that Robinson’s Arch provided efficient access from what may have been the city’s Lower Market below. Pictured directly behind Robinson’s Arch are sprawling tents and market stalls, illustrating what might have been a vibrant and bustling thoroughfare along the Herodian street.

I would, once again, be remiss if I failed to mention that this is the Western Wall of the Temple Mount. A small portion of the remaining limestone western retaining wall is known today as the Wailing Wall to Jewish pilgrims traveling to the site, and is revered for its proximity to the Temple Mount. In Islam, it is known as the al-Buraq Wall, where the Prophet Muhammad tied his winged steed before ascending to heaven.

Robinson Preserve lies outside of Bradenton, FL, south of greater Tampa Bay and near the mouth of the Manatee River. It's a wonderful place to walk, with a good mix of open waters, restored salt marsh, and tranquil beach scenes. With pathways fit for all ages, bicycles, and furry friends, its a popular place.
