The Ingraham Trail, leading 70 KM outside of Yellowknife, Northwest Territories Canada. During the summer months the road comes to a dead end at 70 kms, but during the winter months it attaches to an ice road the extends into the heart of the NWT, leading to remote diamond mines.
I should have realized once I dug into the bear archives it would be hard to get out. Here's another from last July in Alaska.
Best viewed large.
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

Tomorrow night I have a gig in Ayr ON. One of my favourite places to play. A standard tavern type of deal, but we go over very well there.

Sometimes we need to think about taking the road less travelled.

Sunset at The Road Less Travelled
Where does this road lead and what lies over the hill?
The sunset could be inviting or warning of what lies ahead if you take this road.
The tarmac road has no kerbs or lights and it merely runs for miles and miles following the contours of the undulating hills.
Would you regret not taking this road in years to come or wonder what might have been if you stay contented on the road you know?

Quick 2 day visit to Bagan last month - it was well into the hot season so sunrise and sunset were a bit disappointing. However it still doesn't take away from the magnificent vista of temples and stupas all around us. Definitely worth another visit during the cool season.
Highway 20 is the one road in, and one road out of Bella Coola, and is an amazing road. British Columbia, Canada.
I did my first little bit of off-roading today and learned an important lesson: Make sure your coffee cup has a secure lid!
I definitely could not have done this road north of Morley, Alberta, with my Caravan...This is Spring Road which eventually connects with the forestry Trunk Road. It was a fun ride and I look forward to my next off-road experience!
