140km road bike ride at Yorkshire Dales. This time I found a cycling buddy, Adam who suggested the Malham climb as a main attraction of a day. Cycling there from home was some 70km and about 1000m climbing already so it was quite a challenge. Photo is made somewhere further on the shorter uphill part. Road bike paradise. Only the temperature was barely above 0*C

Well today after work I finally decided to go out for a bike ride, its been way to long since I've last been on my bike so felt nice to be out riding along these rural roads again. I use to ride my bike pretty frequently too, kind of sad that my work is a little to far to bike, I mean I could if I wanted to but that would take at least 2 hours to get there. Though if I really pushed it I'm sure I could make it there in under two hours, still a little far to bike. If it was just an hour I'd do it, hell its what I did to get to school back when I was in College. Point is I miss biking around when I had nothing to do.

While I was out I figured I might as well take a photo of this glorious occasion, but I wasn't to keen on the idea of taking a shot on the road, even though this is a road bike. The road is a little barren, plus dealing with traffic/people sucks so I just walked my bike into this field I passed by for this shot. Since I like the extra depth and colour the grass gives. Sunset was actually not the greatest looking today, I really coloured this shot in post is basically what I'm saying. The setting sun was also behind me which helped even out the exposure with the sun and sky, I just helped it out some more in post. Either way I like how this shot turned out.

The title for this photo comes from a line in the song "The Good Life" by Frank Sinatra, or at least thats the one I'm thinking of.

Not possible to ride in the terrain yet

There's an empty room in my house right now so I took advantage of it and setup my stuff for a little. The rooms only 10 x 10 so my backdrop had to stick out of the door a little bit. The ceiling was pretty low so I couldn't get anything good standing up so I decided to just sit and have the light from above.

PS: I just realized I put a Facebook link on all my photos but the link said Flickr. Oops,

Macro-Mondays-As Long As It Ticks

This is a close up shot of the cassette on Stu's road bike. It ticks when you rotate the pedals. We live in the desert, so sand is something that often sticks onto the gears.

Últimas rutas del verano...
