Passion is in the details :)
A couple of spare hours were spent on this piece, which was made in Photoshop.

It's a dour misty day over the fenland-like landscape of the River Humber's north bank, and the last rites of Crabley Creek Signal Box and semaphore signals are all but playing out.
Well, at least that was the plan. The £34m re-signalling project designed to eliminate all signal boxes and semaphore signals along the 9½ mile stretch from Gilberdyke to North Ferriby was ultimately successful - with the exception of the box at Crabley Creek. Required to serve Crabley Farm, which lies isolated on the banks of the Humber behind me, the deeds of the land specify that while ever there is a railway crossing just here, it must be manned.
So, the signal box, which at over 120 years just happened to be the oldest along this stretch, remains in use. It no longer controls signals (that takes place some 30 miles away at the York Rail Operating Centre), but the attendant on duty does monitor the location of trains on the track diagram to decide when it's safe for traffic to and from the farm to cross. With typically 10 trains an hour using the crossing, integrating the passage of tractors, especially during the busy harvest season, together with the occasional movement of livestock, can be quite a challenge.
In this shot, a 2-car Northern class 142 Pacer unit approaches under clear signals with a local train destined for Hull. Rather like the signals, the Pacer unit is now also consigned to the past. But at least some of the history here lives on.

No-one leaves the Wilson Tunnel unchanged. Doing it every day might dull your senses, but a first time visitor becomes aware of a subtle transformation that is hard to put in words. What is it?
No, it is not a test of guts, running under full size tree trunks. The façade of a 45m high biomass power plant is covered with layers of eucalyptus tree trunks, hanging like wind chimes over the stairs. The stairs are leading to a nice viewing platform on the roof.

The day was bright but my thoughts were with a Sad Rite halfway around the Globe. And Nature herself came to my aid.
Here's an amazingly Black Xylocopa latipes, a Tropical Carpenter Bee, no doubt a descendant of www.flickr.com/photos/87453322@N00/8986047224/in/photolis.... She's taking a nibble at the bottom of the 'crown' of Calotropis gigantea, Crown Flower.
Carpenters are necessary for the Sad Ceremony on my mind, and so are Flowers; this Tropical Milkweed is used in such Hindu Rites on Bali and Lombok as a Good Omen.
The sacrifice, the offering, the rise and fall of being in this ancient rite called life.
I keep rising from my ashes before being burnt again, but only until the highest tide will come and wash me away.
Let me burn by the flames of love, let me perish by the fires of grief, let me being consumed by the joys of wonders, let me feel being intensely alive!
Let me try to give warmth around me and be a healing incense to others. Let me shine bright sometimes in my burning, and please, let me stand still on my altar for a little while too.
So I can see the burning lights of all fires above me, before incarnating into the embers of my unknowns again.

Shot of the inside of the main corridor of the grand sheikh zayed mosque.
Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque was initiated by the late president of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who wanted to establish a structure which unites the cultural diversity of Islamic world, the historical and modern values of architecture and art. His final resting place is located on the grounds beside the same mosque.
The mosque was constructed from 1996 to 2007. It is the largest mosque in the United Arab Emirates.
The building complex measures approximately 290 m (960 ft) by 420 m (1,380 ft), covering an area of more than 12 hectares (30 acres), exclusive of exterior landscaping and vehicle parking.
