FDA has approved many treatments to help children with asthma lead active lives. Most asthma medicines are inhaled, either (2) through a mask with very young children, or through (3) a small device called an inhaler. For inhalers, doctors might also prescribe (4) a device called a spacer. The spacer attaches to the inhaler to make sure that the right dose of medicine gets into the child’s lungs. “Rescue” medications treat severe symptoms, while “controller” medicines prevent or lessen symptoms. In addition, health care providers might recommend the use of (5) a peak flow meter to monitor how well a child’s treatment is working. Health care professionals will also provide (6) an asthma action plan. No matter what the medication or device, it is important for parents and children to follow the instructions and to contact their doctor’s office or pharmacy with any questions.

Southbound after 8 p.m. on October 12, 2019 just north of East Lansing, Michigan the clouded, moonless inky night is lit up by warning lights of tow-trucks, police and ambulance responding to car accident, causing the traffic flow in both directions of the divided highway to slow down.
According to national statistics the biggest risk factor in the lives of most people in the USA (likely of all societies that are thoroughly overtaken by personal automobiles) is driving. Another factoid says that most accidents, big or small, will take place within 25 miles (40 km) of one's home; perhaps a function of the number of hours in that radius, or perhaps due to inattention on the routes taken repeatedly. In any case this video snapshot captures a scene that is not daily, but yet is not uncommon to see while motoring around the state. In the days when moving about was horse-powered or on rails, probably there were other elements of daily life that rose to the top of one's risk factors: disease and ineffective anti-biotics, cooking fires, and so on.

Some foods increase the risk of coronary heart disease, others may protect against it. Uncontrolled diabetes can contribute to coronary heart disease. Oily fish, fruit and vegetables, garlic, some oils including olive oil, fibre from wholegrain cereals, legumes and soy, nuts and seeds and tea may help protect against the disease. A small intake of alcohol is associated with a reduced risk of heart disease in some people.

This illustration is going to be a support for displaying (through an infographic) the different factors involved in road safety. The main reasons for accidents are, indeed:
1- Human beings' mistakes
2- Vehicles malfunctions
3- Road conditions
4- Environmental aspects, like weather or SIGNAGE
Like the typefaces map this is going to be part of my research for my Master degree thesis.
According to a study published in Annals of Internal Medicine, improving even one of five major lifestyle risk factors- weight, diet, exercise, smoking and drinking- can reduce risk of diabetes by 31% for men and 39% for women.
October 22, 2021: even though I just had the #flu, I got my #SeasonalFluShot at the 49th Parallel #Pharmacy & #Medical #Clinic in @CityOfWhiteRock … so now I’m feeling like I could #sleep for a #week & I did nap after #dinner. I had a big #salad & a #burger loaded with greens from @earlsrestaurant. I also had some #fruit for desert, along with a yummy chocolate chip pecan #cookie from @lauras_coffee_corner (so good!).
I’ve had my #flushot most years over the last two decades. More so when my #allergies were really bad, before I went on #shots for a few years just over a decade ago. I’ve never had adverse reactions to it, & I’ve largely avoided the flu over the years with the exception of getting very #sick in January/February 2020, which may have been #COVID_19.
I’ve done some #cleaning tonight, so I feel good about that. I’m listening about #depression through a @udemy course by psychologist Dr Randy Paterson. This course focuses on the #RiskFactors for depression.
I’m still struggling as I’ve not been #consistent still with getting stuff done. Old patterns are back: I’ve slept in a lot, stayed up late, & stopped #meditating & #journaling. I’ve not called back community support services that have left so many messages now & seems to have given up on trying to call again. This is what would hook me up with group therapy. I don’t know why I end up like this - unable to fix the causes behind the messes in my life. It’s one of the key associations Dr @jordan.b.peterson lists as possibly connected to being borderline, & I know I can’t diagnose myself but in a July 27, 2017 @bitesizedphilosophy YouTube video, “Jordan Peterson - Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD)” he explained how: “1 of the things that’s interesting about people with BPD is that they’re often quite intelligent, & you see in the person with BPD, something like the waste or squandering of tremendous potential. They seem capable of thinking through the nature of their problems, & analyzing them & discussing it, but not capable whatsoever of implementing any solutions” (2m 45s). That’s been me to a T for years now. So that’s something to explore with the psychologist I see in December.
