A view from the US 30 overpass at Union Grove of UP's M-CLPR had former Chicago and North Western SD40-2 6855 and a leased MPI SD40 on a hot and muggy day in the summer of 1996.
Standing on this bridge was an exercise is dodging semis and even moronic drivers occasionally yelling "JUMP!".
I would not stand here today for anything on Union Pacific's current roster but for a North Western SD40-2, I risked it all.

I doubt that anyone would risk the damage to their vehicle from hitting this railing, so the building continues to stand, safe, save from the wrecking ball.

Penguins are both timid and fearless. On land, these Gentoo Penguins roam relatively fearless, with no predators. In the water however, sea lions, leopard seals, and killer whales enjoy a tasty penguin snack. Killer whales work with the other members of their pod to coordinate attacks, going so far to try to bump into the ice from below to try to knock a penguin off.
When penguins get close to water, be it at the edge of an ice berg or some rocks like here, there always seems to be some hesitation. Inevitably, one brave (or clumsy) penguin will dive into the water. Within moments, all the other neighboring penguins will follow suit.
It can be pretty comical watching these little hesitation rituals play out. In this case, the penguins were walking in one direction, and would then change their mind and start walking back. After going back and forth a few times, they eventually leapt into the water.
In 2013 the Road Safety Foundation identified the A537 as the most dangerous road in Britain. This tight, 12 km stretch of single carriageway winds its way over the hills from Macclesfield to Buxton and is busy with heavy goods vehicles, buses, tourists and daredevil bikers. Named after the summit- top pub, the Cat & Fiddle has steep drop-offs, tight bends, random fog, and is lined for much of its length with unyielding dry stone walls...
No problems spoiled our scenic views from the the number 58 bus this day...
