I'm not in-love (by 10cc)

Sometimes luck is everything. As I was shooting this peaceful scene a passing boat produced just the ripples I wanted.
These significant ripple formations were captured at Beachside State Park (Oregon), during a minus tide. Not only are they interesting visually, but also in how they were formed. These are symmetric, flat topped ripples, initially formed by the breaking waves (before the tide went way out), and then their tops were flattened by the oscillating tide.

By way of a respite from trains, this is a rework and reboot of a 6x6 medium format image taken just over 20 years ago.
I took it on Kodak E100S transparency film but, after scanning, preferred the punchier impact of the toned monochrome conversion. Cropped slightly from the top.
The location is Jury's Gap in Sussex.

From my notes of June 1990, i wrote " the appearance of Pier movement in the shadows from strong sunlight.and hand rail timber warp."
Around this time i was playing with all sorts of ideas and filters....
If only i had been more detailed with my note keeping........

A Roseate Spoonbill found in the wild on the Space Coast, Florida. He was by himself ; about 100 yards further out, in a tree were 8 more. Such amazing color.

Ripples in the sand on a windblown beach.
First bit of fresh air I have gotten in a bit, as I am just starting to recover from a bad bout of Covid, compliments of the guy who coughed on me without covering his mouth.

Grateful Dead - Ripple

If my words did glow with the gold of sunshine
And my tunes were played on the harp unstrung
Would you hear my voice come through the music
Would you hold it near as it were your own?
It's a hand-me-down, the thoughts are broken
Perhaps they're better left unsung
I don't know, don't really care
Let there be songs to fill the air
Ripple in still water
When there is no pebble tossed
Nor wind to blow
Reach out your hand if your cup be empty
If your cup is full may it be again
Let it be known there is a fountain
That was not made by the hands of men
There is a road, no simple highway
Between the dawn and the dark of night
And if you go no one may follow
That path is for your steps alone
Ripple in still water
When there is no pebble tossed
Nor wind to blow
You who choose to lead must follow
But if you fall you fall alone
If you should stand then who's to guide you?
If I knew the way I would take you home
Sail away, away
Ripples never come back.
Gone to the other side.
Sail away, away.

This is another image from yesterday taken during the bird show. They certainly did make good use of this bath as you can see by the ripples in the water and the droplets that were splashed about.
I like the way the water was reflecting the foliage around to color the water. It was cool outside with gorgeous sunlight and lots of shadows from the trees. Although, I have to admit I am a baby when it comes to temperatures, there were butterflies flitting about so it couldn't have been all that cool.
Me in temperatures below 60 degrees. I hope you have a fulfilled day regardless if it's for work or play. Happy snapping.
Just one fallen leaf disrupted the stillness of the water.
Thanks for your visit and taking the time to comment, very much appreciated!🙋♀️
Small waves are great for presenting a ripple fold contrasting abstract aided by reflections from the sun..
Still up to my eyes in paint and wallpaper, so another one from the archives.
Early morning on Derwentwater, Cumbria, UK. A small steamer making beautiful patterns on the mirror surface of the water.
Sorry I'm not particularly active on Flickr right now... I'm a bit stressed out at the moment. 2020 is really starting to get on my nerves. Anybody else looking forward to 2021...?
Playing with a few images from the summer - really like this one with the ripples in the sand creating interesting textures.
Pennington flash, Leigh,
I became enthralled by the white shadows created by the Swans, and in particular, how square the ripples where affected in the lea of their bodies.
Third and last post in my brief landscape set is this shot taken at White Sands National Monument. In 2019 the monument was "upgraded" to a National Park.
