My day started off great with breakfast at a diner. What made that even more super excellent is that I met a couple fellow bikers there, then rode over to an advanced riding class.
I took Ride Like A Pro. It taught us slow speed maneuvers, which are the hardest. Any fool can go straight on a motorcycle, but doing a U-turn on a narrow 2-lane road or a parking lot is dicey. By the time the class was over, I could do a consistent 360 degree turn inside 20'. I did a figure 8 inside 24' (a two-lane road).
The key to getting even better (goal: a u-turn inside 18') is practice. So, I made "cones". The tennis balls are stable, visible, and I can ride over them without any damage.
Oh yeah, we saw Star Trek and had fajitas for dinner. See? Awesomeness!

Jerry Motorman Palladino explains two up riding is no different using the techiques his team teaches. That's his wife Donna up behind him.

Sounds simple: weave between cones spaced 12' apart. It isn't, especially when they put the 1' tall cones on top of the tennis balls. Muscling a 880Lb bike around at 3mph is tough!

When you watch this, you will think this maneuver is easy. The "gates" are 24' apart wide-wise, and 12' apart lengthwise. It took four hours of practicing different courses to get to this level of skill.
And, yeah, Allen seemed to pick it up fast.

We did a lot of heavy torque riding at slow speeds with our clutches and brakes always partially engaged. To keep our bikes from overheating, we'd take a break and ride in big loops at higher speeds.
This is Perry, a fellow member of my motorcycle club. He's riding a chromier version of Roxie, with a fairing and queen seat. I ride a Tour Deluxe and he rides a Venture.
The Ride Like a Pro motorcycle skill demonstration performed at the Rally. What you see here is six Harley Davidson Electro Glides sharing a 24 foot circle.
The Motorman is preparing to demo the slow race which is supposed to be approximately a brisk walk speed. Somebody should tell Kirsten that he likes to cheat.
