My son, Rhys Orion Sohl was sucessfully delivered without complications at the GI Joe Medical Center at 19:52 on 4-21-10. He weighed 8 pounds and 10 ounces and was born with a full head of straight black hair. He looks just like me, truly a little clone trooper!

For pics of what he really looks like check out my wife's photostream www.flickr.com/photos/nexus6zhora/. And stay tuned, I'm sure there will be some here in my stream soon enough.

I headed over to The Lincoln Center halfway through BEMF to check out Rhys Chatham conducting A Crimson Grail as part of the Worldess Music Series. Normally the piece is for 400 guitars but this particular performance had 200. Still super gorgeous.

Jonathan Rhys Meyers was born July 27, 1977, in Dublin, Ireland. He lives in Los Angeles or London when not filming on location. He acts in TV and movies.

Sunday afternoon at the surf club in Noosa. It was packed as the TV Today Show was in town and the hosts were expected there. I asked if we could use the spare seats at his table and he obliged. His friend Daniel came back with beers and we had a chat.

I started taking photos and Rhys was happy to participate in my Strangers project.

Later I took a few portraits of Rhys with the TV show hosts :-)

Rhys was working up in Darwin for a while, and is now a Barber working in Noosa at Cartel.

He has lived in Noosa before, and loves it.

This is the 47th portrait in my 100 Strangers project.

Rhys Greedy competing in the annual "The Hendrix Mt Cooroora Endurance Challenge" . Shot taken around 2/3 up the summit of Mt Cooroora at Pomona Qld. Rhys didn't complete the most circuits during the day ( 9 in his case ) but he did, somehow manage to keep looking cool during what must have been a pretty tough day. It's been quite hot and dry all through Winter btw, with no relief in sight.

Today my wife had to start back at work, so the kids and I just had a chill out day at home as I'm not back in the office until tomorrow.

I've managed to hurt my foot, so with very little sleep over the past couple of days I was expecting to be Mr Grumpy, but in all credit to the kids they've been perfect all day and super helpful.

Quick and lazy shot already (not a good sign on day 3) of my eldest with an LED light providing the illumination.

So out of practice with my camera, the first few I shot were blurry as I can't hold the camera as steady as I could when I was used to shooting every day... it's like having to learn photography all over again.

Tropfest 2013 on tonight: Sydney, Australia; Red carpet and awards update

Not many festivals can claim the title of being Australia’s most prestigious short film festival and largest short film festival in the world at the same time. Such is the stage of Tropfest – one of Australia’s most iconic cultural events.

From its humble beginnings in 1993 as a screening for 200 people in a Sydney cafe, Tropfest has grown its audience reach to approximately 150,000 people and expanded to global cities including Abu Dhabi, London, Toronto, Berlin, Bangkok and New York.

Open to anyone who wishes to enter, the annual short film competition provides unique platforms for emerging filmmakers through its events and initiatives. Past judges include high profile film personalities such as Nicole Kidman, Cate Blanchett, Naomi Watts, Russell Crowe and Keanu Reeves, just to name a few. All films are made especially for Tropfest and include the Tropfest Signature Item (TSI), which changes each year. The 2013 TSI is “Balloon”.

Free to attend, Tropfest is an outdoor celebration complete with live music and entertainment, public catering and bars, red carpet arrivals and the highly anticipated film screenings followed by an award ceremony.

Stay tuned right here at Music News Australia and Media Man for a full report including winners, and be sure to check out some amazing photos of the event at the Eva Rinaldi Photography website.

About Tropfest...

Tropfest is the largest short film festival in the world and the first truly international film festival. It is also the world’s most exciting platform for up and coming film makers to gain international exposure.

Scores of films made for and screened at Tropfest have gone on to gain commercial distribution. And literally dozens of Tropfest filmmakers have had local and international careers launched as a result of their work being seen in front of thousands of people – including many of the most respected professionals in the film world. The festival is judged by a panel of distinguished industry professionals. Previous judges have included George Miller, Naomi Watts, Elijah Wood, Toni Collette, Salma Hayek, Russell Crowe, Nicole Kidman, Baz Luhrmann, Ewan McGregor, Darren Aronofsky, Will Smith, Bryan Singer and many others!

Tropfest was established to encourage production, not just exhibition. Consequently, an annual, randomly-chosen item (known as the Tropfest Signature Item or 'TSI') must be included in each film to show it was made specifically for the festival. We believe that practice makes perfect; only by honing his or her craft will a filmmaker continue to refine their story-telling abilities.

Our mission is to continue to develop the most exciting forum in the world for audiences to come together and celebrate premium short films; and to continue to offer filmmakers a bigger and better platform from which to launch their professional careers.

Tropfest continues to expand internationally. The inaugural Tropfest Arabia was held in Abu Dhabi in November 2011; Tropfest New York and Tropfest Vegas will both be held in June 2012; and Tropfest New Zealand will be held in January 2013. Discussions are underway to bring Tropfest to more destinations around the world including Beijing, Paris, London and Singapore.

Jonathan Rhys Meyers will never date an actress.

The handsome Irish actor - who has been romantically linked to his 'Match

Point' co-star Scarlett Johansson, Toni Collette and Rachel Leigh Cook -

avoids dating Hollywood stars because they are all "drama queens".

Jonathan told Britain's OK! magazine: "I'm not intimidated by tough women, I'm

attracted to them.

"I wouldn't date an actress. Too difficult and too competitive. I'm the only

actress in my life! They are all drama queens. Let me say, from someone who

is a drama queen, they all are.

"Actors all have different personalities, but they're all just f***ing

actors! I've never really made friends with any actors because they are

bitter twisted creatures - including me."

The 'Bend It Like Beckham' actor also admits he isn't very romantic and

rarely sends his lovers thoughtful gifts.

Jonathan - who is said to be in an on-off relationship with heiress Reena

Hammer, daughter of make-up artist Ruby Hammer - said: "I'm not really the

sending flowers type. I'm not very romantic. A nice box of chocolates once a

month is always good when you can't get there to s**g your girlfriend!

"I don't fancy skinny women. But then I don't fancy fat women either. I like

athletic women, women who work out. I like women who are outdoorsy.

"I don't put myself out there. I don't date an actress and I don't hang

around with famous people."
