Compared to the previous generation of slitting machines we produced, this type of slitting machine is added by PLC modules, which allows users to control the whole machine via the interface of artificial intelligence by a single finger’s operation operating on the touchscreen.
Furthermore, PLC is something like microcomputers, which calculates the tension of unwinding rolls and rewind rolls automatically. Having the tension controlled, each machine is equipped with magnetic powder brake and magnetic clutch to control the tension actually. Rewinding of films was always done by hand. Originally the rewinders were designed for the maximum permitted spool of film ie: 2000ft ( which lasted for approx 20mins) When 3D came along, the spool sizes had to be oncreased to 6000feet capacity. Never one to spend money if they could help it, ABC instructed projectoinists to place the rewinders up on blocks of wood!
