Today was beautiful outside.......or so I'm told.
I spent the day cleaning.......ughhhhh! It's a dirty job (a REALLY dirty job...lol), but somebody has to do it! My house was just plain cruddy. The spiders have been busy in the corners and I could write my name on every surface! I'd seen better floors in a barn! Being down at the shore 1/2 the summer has it's price! So I put my shoulder to the grindstone and cleaned my way through the afternoon. At least now I feel like the Board of Health won't close us up.....LOL!
After dinner there was still some nice light outside so I stepped out into the garden to enjoy what was left of the day.......I was rewarded with many lovely sights, one of which was the little Pearl Cresent Butterfly perched on a petunia.

One of the many pleasures and rewards of The Coffee House is the bike trail, the Tammany Trace, that runs from Abita Springs to Slidell, passing through Mandeville, Fountainebleau State Park and Lacombe. I've been riding about 3 miles each day. This morning my riding buddy (neighbor Melissa) and I went almost 5 miles to the Fountainebleau State Park beach! (do the math, almost 10 miles round trip!!!!! Oh, my aching butt!!!!!)
After Katrina, the state of Louisiana almost just scratched Fountainebleau. It was so ravaged they thought it be would more than 20 years before they would have the money to clean it up.
Well, they've done a beautiful job!

“I cannot conceive of a God who rewards and punishes his creatures, or has a will of the kind that we experience in ourselves. Neither can I nor would I want to conceive of an individual that survives his physical death; let feeble souls, from fear or absurd egoism, cherish such thoughts. I am satisfied with the mystery of the eternity of life and with the awareness and a glimpse of the marvelous structure of the existing world, together with the devoted striving to comprehend a portion, be it ever so tiny, of the Reason that manifests itself in nature.”
Albert Einstein
