My internal clock this time of the year has a time standard all its own. I have a very difficult time sleeping past four o'clock now so it is nice the sun is coming up earlier as well.
I have an app on my phone that tells me the exact moment the sun will come up and go down in our area plus it gives me the time periods for the "blue hour" and the "golden hour" which are the times of the day where the light is best for most photography.
It came in handy when I took this photo yesterday shortly after sunrise in the golden hour slot. I assume the swans have the same app as they were up early as well.

The stretch of sand at Seilebost beach on the south side of Luskentyre Bay was once voted one of the top 10 best beaches in the world. Come here on a fine, sunny day and it won ‘t be difficult to see why. Whatever time of year you visit this is a perfect destination for spectacular photo shots or for those just looking to truly get away from it all.
Pure sands with rocky patches slope gently into the pristine, aquamarine waters of the sea. Fine views across the water to Taransay and Ben Luskentyre reward the visitor with that winning combination of clean sands, sparkling waters and mountain vistas.
One thing to note is that, whilst the view is iydllic, there is the possibility of quicksand in the area so walkers should avoid walking in the wet sand at low tide.
The beach can be accessed from the A859. Seilebost is on a promontory of land jutting out into the sea, north of the tiny village of the same name. Access to the beach from the road be a little difficult, but for those prepared to make the effort, the reward can be that you just might have this tiny bit of paradise all to yourself.
The Eastern end of the beach gives way to grassy dunes, a suitable starting point for long walks.
The traditional crofting village of nearby Seilebost (pronounced Shell-a-bost) has no facilities other than holiday cottages. There are no facilities near the beach, but restaurants and other amenities can be found in Tarbert.
During the Highland clearances, people living on the Western side of the Isle of Harris were forced to move east, so that cattle could be grazed in the more fertile West. Today Highland cattle and sheep still graze in the grassy slopes.
We Michigan lowlanders aren't used to 7,000 feet, so the hike up here to Trout Lake was an effort. Here was our beautiful reward, one of thousands of gems in Yellowstone.

Please do NOT post your own pictures if you are kind enough to provide a comment or reward. I consider this rude and unwelcome.

Have another fantastic day and week everyone!
I was very busy this morning and spent very little time in the garden. After lunch, I decided to rest in the sunshine for a while, when a tiny blue arrow flew straight at me, turning back at the last minute to land, right in front of me, on a bare twig. I didn't need much time to find out that it was a male Wandering Ringtail.
According to iNaturalist, I have now observed and photographed 335 Wandering Ringtails in our garden, as at 19.04.2023 :)

The reward for a decent hike (although it's also driveable!) This is Big Almaty Lake in the south of Kazakhstan. Even in fairly dull weather like it was on this day, the lake glowed and the mountains looked awesome.

Located in the vicinity of the Punggol Jetty, Punggol was believed to have existed 200 years ago before Sir Stamford Raffles founded Singapore. The Punggol area used to be a well-established rural district dotted with farmhouses and farm structures, which were serviced by roads and dirt tracks. It was one of the oldest settlements in Singapore. The original settlers were predominantly Malays.

TSOD. I went out to catch the LA&L in the evening and decided to try a walk in shot. I waited over an hour for the train, but was finally rewarded with LA&L 425 & 420 working hard with 26 cars at MP 370 in Rush, NY on July 24, 2020.

Successful Flight Reward.
Fledgling Glossy Ibis being rewarded with food after a successful training flight at Ocean City, NJ.
I watched Parent Glossy Ibis encouraging their hungry young to fly, by landing close by then moving away, forcing the youngster to follow them in flight in order to be fed, (see below).

I made my first trip to Tehachapi twenty years go this month and have been very fortunate that the Pass is 'more or less' on the way to New Zealand as this week was my 26th visit.
Some have been week-long endeavours, many have been a few days on the way somewhere, and one was a merely a brief half-day distraction to fill in 24-hours in LAX due to a flight being cancelled.
Since moving to NZ, every visit feels like it will probably be the last. Added to being on the go for a few weeks now, it would be fair to say that this was one of my laziest visits ever. No early morning starts, not much exploring, few new angles. Still, sometimes the lazy trainspotter is rewarded.
In common with every railway line any railfan has ever visited, I wish I'd gotten here a few years earlier to see the pure SF and SP. Still, I'm grateful to have seen it at all. Even twenty years on, I'm still fascinated by the place.

There is nothing like going on a wild goose chase for a waterfall you are not sure exists. With this one I had vague directions that just said park in this general area and follow the path. It turned out to be just enough for me to find this gem. I have not seen any other photos of this waterfall. Happy Waterfall Wednesday.. Kris..
I have been watching this blackbird in the garden for several weeks - possibly even months - as it developed techniques to extract buggy nibbles from a feeder. Normally, blackbirds don't go near feeders but this one decided it had had enough of waiting for the starlings to deliver morsels. Initially, it started flying into the feeder in the hope some nibbles would fall. They did, but were mostly stolen by other birds on the ground. The technique developed into hovering by the feeder whilst plucking out the odd nibble. Finally, it learned to overcome feeder movement and perch on the base as it is here. This allows it to nibble nibbles to its heart's content.
Naadam Horses Race - Each Naadam includes at least one race of stallions, and at least three races for geldings. The distance traveled by the race is also dependent on the age of horses, 15 km for 2 years, 30 km for horses over 6 years.
Riders are always children, boys or girls, 6 to 12 years. Even if the rider falls during the race the horse is not disqualified. The first five horses are rewarded by people singing their praises, and they are sprayed with fermented mare's milk (airag). The colt which arrived last in the race is also distinguished with the people singing a song of encouragement.
