What a difference six months make with the light compared to the last visit.

A revisit to this old hospice/nursing home. Better light and weather and mostly shot with the 50mm F1.4 prime.

The Chocolate Milk Germany UE Tour. All win no fail and some epic locations with host, sunny weather, many miles travelled and much chocolate milk consumed.

This is a closer shot showing part of the abandoned Gunsmoke film set.

The TV series Gunsmoke ran for 20 seasons from 1955 to 1975, and was the United States' longest-running prime time, live-action drama with 635 episodes. The remains of the original set were left to decay in the Utah desert.

I made another visit to the ghost Hamlet and shot some stuff I missed Before.

A revisit of an old picture from the Packard that i wanted a different take on

I was visited a second day by the hooded warbler. This bird like dark spots so I take what I can get. I don't mind.

A revisit of a frame from 2012 using a different approach.

This catholic church was designed in a very modern style by Jón Haraldsson and built on a headland above the small fishing village of Stykkishólmur on the northern side of the Snæfellsnes peninsula in West Iceland. The curves are intended to remind the observer of whale bones.

This is just one of those places you can't stay away from. I visit it all year 'round. But winter is always my favorite time.

Ice Cave bowl....

With restrictions getting tighter by the week, I thought I would revisit some older shots. This was taken on the south rim of the Grand Canyon. We got up a 4.00am to cycle around the rim. The reward was to see the sunrise over the canyon. We were greeted with breathtaking light, with the canyon offering endless undulating formations within which shadows came and when endlessly.

I had not converted this image to black and white and feel that on reflection this is probably the better approach in showing the drama created by the sunrise, without the distraction of colour.

It's that time of year when the Dalmatian pelicans are at their best and many a company have their photo trips in full swing. Seeing images posted on Facebook I thought I should revisit my hard drive again and add some more to this wintery album.

This image taken by the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope revisits the Veil Nebula, which was featured in a previous Hubble image release. In this image, new processing techniques have been applied, bringing out fine details of the nebula’s delicate threads and filaments of ionized gas.

To create this colorful image, observations were taken by Hubble's Wide Field Camera 3 instrument using five different filters. The new post-processing methods have further enhanced details of emissions from doubly ionized oxygen (seen here in blues), ionized hydrogen, and ionized nitrogen (seen here in reds).

The Veil Nebula lies around 2,100 light-years from Earth in the constellation of Cygnus (the Swan), making it a relatively close neighbor in astronomical terms. Only a small portion of the nebula was captured in this image.

The Veil Nebula is the visible portion of the nearby Cygnus Loop, a supernova remnant formed roughly 10,000 years ago by the death of a massive star. That star – which was 20 times the mass of the Sun – lived fast and died young, ending its life in a cataclysmic release of energy. Despite this stellar violence, the shockwaves and debris from the supernova sculpted the Veil Nebula’s delicate tracery of ionized gas – creating a scene of surprising astronomical beauty.

The Veil Nebula is also featured in Hubble’s Caldwell Catalog, a collection of astronomical objects that have been imaged by Hubble and are visible to amateur astronomers in the night sky.

I am in the process of revisiting much of my archived images that were done in HDR to process them with improved knowledge and processing knowledge... I do not think that they convey the drama that can be created by the HDR process but have a certain mood and freshness to them...

See below for the original crude HDR ( i was still learning)

Hello everyone! I am glad to present my newest build - Under the Barrel and Laurel inn.

I decided to finally revisit the medieval fantasy style and went for a snowy inn. The inspiration came mainly from this 3D model that I found on Pinterest and also from a winter tune on a WoW Lo-Fi playlist that my friend Malen Garek sent me to keep me more productive. And it worked! I also need to mention my buddy markk_bricks who gave me the idea for the Barrel sign, hence the inn's name!

The boxing gloves are atribute to my favourite snow moc ever. :)

2023 is coming to an end so I guess it is time for a little recap. Life has been pushing me more and more, I am continuing to pursue the masters degree in Pharmacy but my passion for LEGO remains intact. I've participated in a few conventions where I've met wonderful people and took part in larger projects, including my LUGs Western project and BrickzLab's Siege of Vodran. I hope to build more of my own MOCs in the future!

Cheers to you all, have yourself a wonderful Christmas and a happy new year!

Yours truly,

Jan, the Creator

I spent the past weekend in Marshall County, Kansas. After visiting the Surprise School at sunrise I stopped at the Danish Lutheran Church and Cemetery. The church building was used from 1879 until 1955. Although no longer in use it is very well maintained. Digital infrared black and white image made with a --converted Pentax *ist DS on 7-4-2014.

A shot I took a few years ago but now retaken with the amazing 645Z.
