My first visit this year to my willow friend I found the buds beginning their reveal from the strands. I took it in with much comfort while watching the strands cross over one another. So much possibility, so many variations...when do I snap the button?
...series continued from previous post...
In between the big February snowstorm and even the bigger March snowstorm, I visited my favorite weeping willow tree to see if it had begun its springtime awakening. We had roller coaster temperature shifts and some plants had begun to poke out of the ground. It was late afternoon with an overcast sky and snow was on its way again. I love hanging out with this tree.

After 30 minutes the machine beeps to say it's finished. Lid off and fluffy, separate grains of rice are revealed. Electricity cost 7p and so it was cheaper than using the hob. And the rice isn't burned!
This image was captured during a recent early morning explore of the Wiltshire landscape.
The image depicts the golden morning light reveal the green fields and rolling hills of a landscape along with the many features within.
I had no idea these stripes were here when I initially started to photograph this plant. As I got closer, they looked pretty cool and through my macro lens, even better. One of my favorite things to do photographically is see things through the macro lens that I otherwise wouldn't see. I think that's why I am so obsessed with macro photography, especially of unusual plants. This is my second of fifty two for the Big Five Two.

McLaren have revealed the car they hope will push them closer towards becoming World Championship contenders with a live show from their factory in Woking.
The MCL36, which will be driven by Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo, is built to revolutionary new technical rules and features a new livery that marries papaya orange with a new shade of blue.
McLaren finished fourth in the constructors’ championship last year after a campaign that yielded their first win since 2012, through Ricciardo at Monza and the only one-two finish of the year with Norris following him home.
Their points tally was their highest since 2012, while their relative performance demonstrated they had closed the gap to pace-setters Mercedes and Red Bull. The target is to continue that upward trajectory.
Though LEGO released a large Technic Formula One Mclaren Racer earlier this month, they did so using the livery used for 2021.
This is my first contemporary Formula One racer for six years. I thought it would be a good idea to assess the current dimension package for the type. Suffice to say I was rather surprised at how large they have grown. Notably in wheelbase and overall length. The season 2022 changes also see an increase in the size of the wheels from 13 inch to 18 inch and a significant increase in the rolling diameter of the tires as well.

Revealed at low tide these rocks look so out of place on the beach at Aldwick, I would love to know how they came about to be there.
If you take a line up from the right hand foreground rock to the shingle you can just make out the wreck of the WWII pontoon.
I took quite a few pictures here but decided to post this one, just because the story is more interesting than any of the photos.
This is now a winery in Liberty, MO, but the "spirits" they serve are more than just the kind you drink!
Ghost Hunters and Ghost Adventures (TV shows) have both run shows about this place.
Here's a recap from Ghost Hunters:
"The Belvoir Winery in Liberty, Missouri has 4 buildings, and all of them are haunted! TAPS is called in to investigate the campus.
The buildings used to be an orphanage, an old people's home, a nursing home and a safety bunker. Currently, the orphanage is operating as a winery run by the client, Jesse Leimkuehler. He says the ghosts roaming the halls there are probably children, and they are harmless. Reports in that building include voices, music playing, footsteps and people have had their pant legs tugged.
In the other buildings, however, Jesse is worried that the paranormal activity is negative. If he tears the buildings down, he fears the ghosts will move into the winery. There is a morgue in the nursing home that is especially creepy, and people have been pushed and touched, seen dark shadow figures and heard voices. In the bunker, visitors have heard children singing.
More than 10,000 people have died in this complex over the years, so the potential for paranormal activity is certainly high!
During the investigation, the teams have several noteworthy experiences. Jason and Steve jump out of their skin when they hear a loud glass shattering. They look everywhere but there is no glass to be found! Amy and Adam similarly hear loud crashing noises. Britt and Michelle find themselves in a dark hallway chasing a black shadow that feels ominous to even the experienced investigators.
In the nursing home morgue, Adam is grabbed, and he and Amy hear whistling and voices. The two also investigate the bunker, where their recorders pick up a child's voice yelling. When they're in the orphanage they hear piano music coming down the hallways, when nobody is playing the piano!
Britt and Michelle, meanwhile, use RIM Pods in the winery hallway and place toys around to draw out the child spirits. The pods light up in succession, as though someone is running down the hallway!
It's great to see the old friends having fun together again: Steve and Tango get into hysterics over a Jello joke and Tango pulls a little prank on Steve.
During the reveal, Jesse tells Steve and Jason that he had another odd experience the day before when footsteps seemed to follow him to the laundry room. Jason and Steve share all their evidence with him. If the ghosts in the buildings he tears down are residual, they should stay with the objects they're attached to. But if they're intelligent, they may migrate to the winery.
If the latter happens, TAPS will return and help Jesse once again. Great investigation!"
Note that none of the buildings have been torn down.

The sparkling spiral galaxy gracing this NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope Picture of the Week is UGC 5460, which sits about 60 million light-years away in the constellation Ursa Major. This image combines four different wavelengths of light to reveal UGC 5460’s central bar of stars, winding spiral arms and bright blue star clusters. Also captured in the upper left-hand corner of this image is a far closer object: a star just 577 light-years away in our own galaxy.
UGC 5460 has hosted two recent supernovae named SN 2011ht and SN 2015as. It’s because of these two stellar explosions that Hubble targeted this galaxy, collecting data for three observing programmes that aim to study various kinds of supernovae.
SN 2015as was what’s known as a core-collapse supernova: a cataclysmic explosion that happens when the core of a star far more massive than the Sun runs out of fuel and collapses under its own gravity, initiating a rebound of material outside the core. Hubble observations of SN 2015as will help researchers understand what happens when the expanding shockwave of a supernova collides with the gas that surrounds the exploded star.
SN 2011ht might have been a core-collapse supernova as well, but it could also be an impostor called a luminous blue variable. Luminous blue variables are rare stars that experience eruptions so large that they can mimic supernovae. Crucially, luminous blue variables emerge from these eruptions unscathed, while stars that go supernova do not. Hubble will search for a stellar survivor at SN 2011ht’s location, and the explosion’s identity may be revealed at last.
[Image Description: A spiral galaxy seen close to face-on. The centre of its disc is a bright, pale yellowish oval shape. Spiral arms extend from either side of the oval through the disc on irregular paths. They are marked throughout by bright bluish-white patches of stars. Distant background galaxies appear as small orangish blobs around the spiral galaxy. In the top-left corner a nearby star shines brightly, spikes radiating from it.]

Vegetation clearance in conjunction with the building of HS2 has revealed a long lost view from Saltley Viaduct as recorded by Rob the previous day. Having studied Rob's picture one thing struck me, the wall in the foreground. The Saltley Viaduct was constructed in around 1887 to replace a congested level crossing and alleviate frequent delays for road traffic held up by the busy Birmingham to Derby route of the Midland Railway. Access had to be given to Saltley station which now stood in the shadow of the viaduct and this was provided by two sets of steps from the new structure. The station was rebuilt with an island platform in 1899 and the original entrances were bricked up. Lining up the original entrance with the changes in the coping stones on the viaduct and reference to the 1899 Town Plan of Birmingham reveals that this wall must be the back wall of the original station. Ada is a Canadian/Japanese girl that loves the Geisha art ever since she was little and is quite good at it herself. Ada's Mother Harumi was once a Geisha herself until she met Ada's Father James in 1989 when he went to Japan on Business. Harumi secretly kept contact with James and they fell in love. After a year of Secrecy James proposed to Harumi, not knowing she wasn't allowed to marry. She made the difficult decision to abandon the Geisha art and go with James to be his wife. Ada discovered her mom's possessions when she was 5. When she asked her mother about the items, she told her what they were, how to use them, and the whole art of being a Geisha. She asked Ada if she would like to learn the art and Ada's response was yes. Ada practices from time to time but has no plans to permanently be a Geisha.
________________________________________________
Whew! That was a lot of writing XD I thought it was time to reveal a little bit more of Ada's past and thought that this would be a nice way to start. I did research and googled what it took to be a Geisha and what she was allowed to do and what not. If I did make some mistakes please let me know as Google is not always correct.

This new picture from the NASA/ESA/CSA James Webb Space Telescope reveals intricate details of the Herbig Haro object 797 (HH 797). Herbig-Haro objects are luminous regions surrounding newborn stars (known as protostars), and are formed when stellar winds or jets of gas spewing from these newborn stars form shockwaves colliding with nearby gas and dust at high speeds. HH 797, which dominates the lower half of this image, is located close to the young open star cluster IC 348, which is located near the eastern edge of the Perseus dark cloud complex. The bright infrared objects in the upper portion of the image are thought to host two further protostars.

Dark matter (green) in our galaxy has been revealed for the first time, using a new imaging technique. The distortions in the bands of dark matter are caused by gravity waves. As expected, dark matter is present in enormous amounts. The large, bright objects in front of the dark matter are nearby stars. You can also see a few distant galaxies as irregular bright spots.
ACTUALLY, the dark matter is the algae on the bottom of a local water trough. Our view of it is distorted by ripples in the trough water surface. The "stars" and "galaxies" are just multiple reflections of our sun.
C'mon, we all see more outlandish image claims on the internet all the time. We don't even have to look on the Dark Web--just on Instagram.
