After the sunrise lightshow in the sky, the early morning light revealed a number of elements that made an interesting composition on the water. With all these pictures in this sunrise shoot, the key was to work quickly in the fast changing light.

The one chance we may ever have to shoot a lunar eclipse during blue hour and over city lights and it was cloudy here! Earlier in the evening, a lady came up to me and asked me where the eclipse was. I said, 'It's in this direction and behind the clouds.' She asked me, 'Do you know when are they going to make the clouds go away?' I said, 'I'll ask.' The Moon finally did make an appearance...

This is a composite of three shots taken last night from the same spot.

Aboutme

We had been away for a while, and when we came back to our old country house, I saw this “spot” of about 1 cm² outside on the kitchen window. I thought a young bird had crashed and made this, but later noticed that the spot had changed shape. Taking a better look revealed that the spot was actually many small spider babies. Sometimes close in a bunch, later more spread, then close again. I let them live there until one day the spot was gone, and now I have hundreds of small spiders around my house, I guess :-)

Yes that is the same fence from which the wet web bung in the prior photo - a two-fer.

From Cornell:

The sweet, lazy whistles of Eastern Meadowlarks waft over summer grasslands and farms in eastern North America. The birds themselves sing from fenceposts and telephone lines or stalk through the grasses, probing the ground for insects with their long, sharp bills. On the ground, their brown-and-black dappled upperparts camouflage the birds among dirt clods and dry grasses. But up on perches, they reveal bright-yellow underparts and a striking black chevron across the chest.

Lakeside Ranch Stormwater Treatment Area (STA)

Located in western Martin County, the Lakeside Ranch Stormwater Treatment Area plays a crucial role in the restoration of the Lake Okeechobee watershed by improving the quality of water flowing into the lake. The wetlands treats stormwater runoff from the Taylor Creek and Nubbin Slough basins to the north before that runoff enters Lake Okeechobee.

Approximately 2,700 acres of Lakeside Ranch is open to the public to enjoy hiking, bicycling, wildlife viewing or simply relaxing. The recreation area is surrounded by levees that are accessible to visitors on foot or on bicycle.

I was leaving Fernhill, and heard a yellowthroat calling in the brush. Decided to pish it out, and it cooperatively showed itself, then went back into hiding. Got a few shots in that revealed position.

Liu Fang Yuan, the Garden of Flowing Fragrance, is one of the largest Chinese gardens

outside China. Designed to create, preserve, and promote the rich and complex traditions of Chinese

culture, this authentic garden is a special place for visitors to feel inspired by the elegant harmony

of nature and poetry. Thanks to visionary landscape architects and artisans from China and the

United States, inspired historians, expert gardeners, and generous benefactors, Liu Fang Yuan

reflects today an exceptional combination of learning and beauty.

A Chinese garden is often compared to a work of art: It is like a scroll painting composed of carefully arranged scenes. As you stroll through the pathways and pavilions of Liu Fang Yuan, new vistas are revealed as if a scroll were being slowly unrolled. In the garden, as in a painting, several key elements play an important part in creating balance, meaning, and beauty in the composition.

View of the Alaska Range, including Mount Foraker (17,400 ft/5304 m), Mount Hunter/Begguya (14,573 ft/4442 m), and Denali (20,310 feet/6190 m), from Talkeetna, Alaska

Having not had the opportunity to see Denali (the tallest peak in North America) on my previous trip to Alaska, it was high on my wish list for this trip. Unfortunately our helicopter flightseeing tour was canceled due to fog, so my hopes rested on a trip up to the town of Talkeetna. After two days of clouds and snow, the weather was not looking promising; as we drove out of Anchorage, the sky remained gray and occasionally spitting icy flakes.

For much of the drive through miles of snow-covered boreal forest, past small communities and long stretches of nothing but snow and trees (and the occasional moose, which thrilled both my daughter and I), the forest blocked the view toward the mountains. As we turned off the highway toward Talkeetna however, the trees began to thin out and I could catch an occasional glimpse of the the Alaska Range, and what I thought was a hint of blue sky. My hopes rose - perhaps there would be a chance to see Denali after all.

Then the road turned and suddenly, ahead of me I could see it, the glorious Alaska Range, bathed in brilliant sunshine, laying just underneath a thick layer of clouds! My next thought was to hope that the clouds would not descend again before I reached the overlook pullout above Talkeetna. Luck was on my side however, as Denali and the other majestic peaks remained in clear view not only from the overlook but long enough to marvel at an unobstructed view from down in the town. (The snowy foreground here is actually the Talkeetna river, frozen and covered with deep snow.)

It was an absolutely breathtaking sight to witness, and I stood there with a mixture of awe and reverence as the view and the moment soaked deeply into my soul. It is a memory that I will carry with me for a long time.

The early morning mist had started to burn away and reveal a couple of small islets. We had stayed the night at the wonderfully remote youth hostel on the shores of Loch Ossain and would have a very long day ahead so an early start was made and with it we caught the low in alls its splendour.

SALVATION THROUGH FAITH IN CHRIST JESUS ALONE!

❤️❤️ IT'S ALL JESUS AND NONE OF OURSELVES! ❤️❤️

16 I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the SALVATION of everyone WHO BELIEVES: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. 17 For in the gospel a RIGHTEOUSNESS FROM GOD IS REVEALED, a righteousness that is by FAITH FROM FIRST TO LAST, just as it is written: "THE RIGHTEOUS WILL LIVE BY FAITH." (Romans 1:16-17)

16 KNOW that a man is NOT justified by observing the law, but by FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be JUSTIFIED BY FAITH in CHRIST and NOT by observing the law, BECAUSE BY OBSERVING THE LAW NO ONE WILL BE JUSTIFIED. (Galatians 2:16)

1. Now, brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. 2. BY THIS GOSPEL YOU ARE SAVED, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.

3. For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4. that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5. and that he appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve. 6. After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. 7. Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles, 8. and last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born.

9. For I am the least of the apostles and do not even deserve to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. 10. But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them--yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me. 11. Whether, then, it was I or they, this is what we preach, and this is what you believed. (1 Corinthians 15:1-11)

7. Therefore Jesus said again, "I tell you the truth, I am the gate for the sheep. 8. All who ever came before me were thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. 9. I am the gate; whoever enters through me WILL BE SAVED. He will come in and go out, and find pasture. 10. The thief comes only to STEAL and KILL and DESTROY; I have come that they may have LIFE, and have it to the FULL. (John 10:7-10)

Jesus came to bring spiritual LIFE to the spiritually dead and set the captives FREE! FREE from RELIGION, ERROR and outright LIES, so WE might serve THE LIVING GOD! In SPIRIT and in TRUTH!

So you'll KNOW, and not think you're to bad for God to love. The Christian LIFE isn't about how good WE are, because NONE of us are! It's about how GOOD JESUS IS! Because JESUS LOVES US, so much he died in our place and took the punishment for all of our sins on himself. The wages of sin is DEATH, and Jesus died that death for YOU and I. The good news is there no more punishment for sin left, we were and are all born forgive as a result of the crucifixion of God himself on the cross that took away the sins of the whole world. All we have to do is believe it, and put your Faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. That my friends is REAL UNCONDITIONAL LOVE! YOU ARE LOVED. ❤️ ✝️ ❤️

Moments of solace are often found at different points within the world. Overcoming challenges like solitude have created some ecstatic hair standing moments in my life. For me spiritual experiences and ultimately serenity is easier to locate when confronted by the raw power of the natural world. I've found that part of the medicine for my being is to create, confront, and overcome hardships, which allow me greater understanding of the human condition. Through the process of constant challenge, and overcome, I've found that I'm often able to manifest or create my desire. For me, personally, this picture is testament that with a goal in mind and the will to make it happen the desired outcome will surely come to pass.

To all the people that I met on my latest journey, thank you for helping create an overall positive experience and making room to connect.

NJ Transit GP40PH-2 4101, sporting its new NJDOT "bluebird" heritage scheme, sits on Track 8 at the Meadows Maintenance Complex for a brief photo opportunity.

The 4101 is the only unit of the 13 CNJ GP40Ps to retain its original Conrail number after its 1991 rebuild in Juniata, and was one of four GP40Ps to wear this scheme. As one of the people involved with this project I cannot express how ecstatic I am to see how great this unit turned out.

Liked this view looking down river over the rocks and potholes revealed ... looking towards the warmer sunrise light as the blue hour was leaving.

View along the pretty Gunpowder River in Maryland.

Captured here with my new 14mm f2.8 lens, captured at f/22. The prime manual lens is pretty sharp ... well worth the cost I think, that was not too bad for the Rokinon lens.

Lotus flowers don't last long - this is later in the 2nd day of flowering and much is revealed regarding the life cycle of the lotus.

A short tele-photo photo reveals the innards of a lotus flower.

As you can see, there are many petals, this variety is white (they are often pink or some combination of the two).

In the center of the flowers, there are many yellow stamens with white tips and an obconical receptacle with many holes, each containing an ovary. The receptacle develops into a large, obconical, spongy structure, flat on top, and maturing some 20–30 nuts generally - this one is smaller. The nuts are ellipsoidal or obovoidal, deep brown in color with hard shells, and about 2 cm long.

The history of the lotus can be traced back to the diluvia epoch, the formation of which, in central Japan, contains the fossil rhizomes and fruits of lotus. Records show that it was grown in ancient Egypt and that a white-flowered variety was grown in India as early as 500 bc (this is likely a descendent).

Splitting bark on birch.

The main reason that birches split or shed their bark is that the tree is growing. As the bark can't stretch or expand, it splits making way for the next layer underneath. The patterns created can be fantastic and the contrasts between old and new are lovely too.

Thorp Perrow Arboretum, North Yorkshire.

A secret barn of sorts - not visible during the summer with all the trees and shrubbery hiding its ruby facade. But with the leaves gone, and the shrubs died back from winter freeze, her rugged and weathered beauty is displayed.

The scenery around Loch Achray gradually came in to view through the mist this morning.

Saw this mixed bouquet, spotted a few of these beauties amongst other Spring flowers.

Tulips, of the frayed/frazzled variety. Because of the warmth of the lights, they opened and revealed all.

Ruffled skirts, ready to Rumba?

I don't talk to flowers, they talk to me and I gladly listen!

Yes, in full communication again.

Hope this makes you smile again, have a great day and thanx for your visit, so very much appreciated, Magda, (*_*)

Barns normally deteriorate from top down as moisture creeps in broken shingles and leaky cupolas and starts an ongoing process. Often farmers years ago sought life extension for barns by using tin sheets over both the roof and siding. As tin sheets get loosened over time the underbelly of red painted wood gets revealed as it does on this barn.

Further along the same beach, this chunk of driftwood had been stripped of all its bark and there were some lovely patterns on the bare, sea bleached wood.

After a long winter, this leaf was uncovered from the melting snow that preserved it.

This was our first morning at Canisbay Lake in Algonquin Park and our first time camping there. We had been down by the lake in the dark the night before, so were curious to see it in daylight.... a heavy mist greeted us, but as we waited the reveal began.

Elterwater revealed - A dreamy daybreak at Elterwater with the clearing morning mist revealing a pastel tinged Lakeland landscape across the perfectly still water. The distinctive Langdale Pikes catching the rich, warm, dawn light provides a great backdrop to the scene.

The thief comes only to STEAL and KILL and DESTROY; I have come that they may have LIFE, and have it to the FULL. (John 10:7-10)

1 Brothers, my heart's desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved. 2 For I can testify about them that they are zealous for God, but their zeal is not based on knowledge. 3 Since they did not know the righteousness that comes from God and sought to establish their own, they did not submit to God's righteousness. 4 Christ is the end of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.

5 Moses describes in this way the righteousness that is by the law: "The man who does these things will live by them." 6 But the righteousness that is by faith says: "Do not say in your heart, 'Who will ascend into heaven?'" (that is, to bring Christ down) 7 "or 'Who will descend into the deep?'" (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). 8 But what does it say? "The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart," that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming: 9 That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. 11 As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame." 12 For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile--the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, 13 for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." (Romans 10:1-13)

Jesus came to bring spiritual LIFE to the spiritually dead and set the captives FREE! FREE from RELIGION, ERROR and outright LIES, so WE might serve THE LIVING GOD! In SPIRIT and in TRUTH!

“A heavy mist enveloped Dartmoor, and from Combestone Tor the great earth ridges swept southerly away all smothered in vapour. Below the broken rock-piles of the tor a steep hill fell sharply, and here nothing but a foxglove or two and a withered white-thorn rose stark against the dim wall of moving mist behind them. In varying densities it floated, and sometimes it was suddenly rent and parted like a ragged veil, to reveal the gorges of Dart beneath Combestone and the neighbouring hills beyond. The world visible at these moments was dimmed to delicate jade; it appeared and vanished at the freak of the mist; and now the crowns of Yar and Sharp and Bel limned ghostly out of the welter and now again they vanished, while lower slopes were revealed. The wind dealt similarly with sound, for the cry of Dart rose up fitfully through it, and came and went, now clear, now hushed by the lull and lift of the breezes.

Beside the tor, where stood its squat and weathered piles with fingers and filaments of vapour stealing among them, there browsed a sheep or two and a shaggy mare with a little mouse-coloured foal. The infant thing squeaked and galloped hither and thither, then it sucked and presently lay down to sleep. The grey air rang and rippled with lark music, and one might have heard four separate songs tinkling together up, up, into the aerial place. Then came also another sound from the hidden Moor a strange, intermittent growl, as of some gigantic animal busy there. The muffled noise persisted, but its cause was hidden.”
