In addition to embedding the multiple literacies within my classroom, I hope to have a classroom that resembles the 21st century. Ms. Cassidy incorporates the multiple literacies in the bulletin boards she creates in her classroom. I hope to use bulletin boards to showcase students work and also, to showcase the literacies that are important within our society. As seen, Ms. Cassidy’s class worked on an environmental project, focusing on the importance of reducing, reusing, and recycling. Bulletin boards are an effective ways of spreading information, especially if placed throughout the school.
So… what other bulletin boards can we make?
-Mental health information
-Global issues such as global warming
-Pictures representing different cultures
-Safe ways to use social media
-Character education
