A picture I took on black and white film a few weeks ago then altered in Photoshop from an idea I saw in another picture on Flickr, I liked it so did my own version.

The term "collective memory" denotes the aggregate of memories and knowledge, that a social group holds, which is intrinsically linked to the group's identity. Maurice Halbwachs, a philosopher and sociologist, developed this concept in his 1925 work, «Les cadres sociaux de la mémoire». Various social collectives can create, disseminate, and inherit collective memory.
Contrary to the term "collective memory, the notion of "collective memories" is inherently problematic. Memories are the results of the individual acts of recollection, making the idea of "collective memories" paradoxical. Diffusion models, utilizing vast amounts of data, including historical and personal old photographs, may be seen as involved in the prompts-driven singular acts of remembrance, producing images that paradoxically represent "collective memories," something otherwise unfeasible and ultimately, non-existent.

While strolling Pikes Place on moms day I ran across this girl selling tulips in the market. I just dug her whole "early 60's vibe" she was rolling with and I wanted a photo, but she was really shy and soft spoken and demured away. Still I talked her into it by chatting up that almost - cherry, white 1960-1963 Mercury Comet (which of course was hers :^) and asking her to pose in front of it. She was very proud of her sled and told me it took her about a year to find it on cragislist.
Lesson one about shooting candids on the street; No one has time for you, until you care about something they care about...
My man to the right was making his rent the old fashioned way... he was earning it! But I just love that "what you look'n at? NYC look he cut me and the way he strutted that "Bowser" hair. (yes, if you got that last reference your old and were permanently scared by bad 70 TV :^) I was clearly on his turf and bugging him so I soon turned my camera elsewere.

A vintage photograph of a woman standing on a terrace in Margit-sziget, Budapest, Hungary during the 1940s.
The gate features an ornate coat of arms, and the stone walls and medieval architecture evoke the historical atmosphere of Siklós Castle. The individuals, dressed in mid-20th-century clothing, smile toward the camera, capturing a moment of sightseeing and heritage exploration.

One of the rare times when I prefer the B&W version to the colour.

Dawn light over the traiditonal Ottoman houses and windmills in Çeşme, a coastal town on Çeşme Peninsula by Aegean Sea, in Izmirn province, Aegean region of Turkey.
Unlike many resort towns in this region, Çeşme has retained a local population and flavour. Only 8km from the Greek island of Chios (Sakız), the town has a long seafront perfect for promenading, a magnificent castle built by the Genoese and a bustling merkez (commercial centre) with plenty of shops and cheap eateries. Popular with weekending İzmiris and with those who balk at the high prices and style overload at nearby Alaçatı, it's an excellent base for exploring the region.

I love this look that I managed to curate over a period of time. I had planned it for a while and had to wait for an opportunity to try it. I’d like to think that had I made different life choices years ago, this could have been me living my life now. A whimsical thought? Perhaps. But this is me being my most natural I think. And I love being a redhead! ☺️
