The Dam Busters is a combat flight simulator set in World War II produced by U.S. Gold. The graphics are very simple by today's standards, using four colours (in the DOS version). It was released on several platforms, and is loosely based on the real life Operation Chastise and the 1955 film.

Yep, another Strider Hiyru pic ^_^ But this is the Sega Mega Drive / Genesis conversion. Just before I could afford the Capcom CPS-1 Jamma PCB ( Coin-op version ) a few years later. This version was what I had to make due and it was a pretty damn good conversion !
I'll never forget Xmas 1990 when my parents almost picked up the shitty-looking American copy of Strider for $69 ! That's right, Strider was the first 8 Megabit cartridge which resulted in a price increase in America due to chip manufacturing costs. Though the problem, this game sold out in most mainstream department stores in the L.A. for the holidays. So I called a few gaming stores. Japan Video Games based out in San Gabriel, California had just sold their last copy. I was like DAMN !! But then I called Die Hard Gamers Club ( yes, the gaming magazine had a retail store at the time ) based way out Tarzana, California. Die Hard told me they had a copy but it was the Japanese import. Strider had been out on the Mega Drive in Japan for a few weeks. My Genesis had recently been modded for the import version of Batman at the time :) Die Hard quoted me $45 for the import Strider game. Reasons being at the time a video game from Japan later released in America - noone was no longer interested in the import copy. I immediately told Die Hard to hold it; my parents was coming to pick it up.
My folks brought it home and I was blown away by the artwork. The American version looked like SHIT in comparison. I wasn't allowed to play Strider until Xmas which was a couple days away. Oooooh the agony XD !!! But when Xmas came and it was GAME ON !!
Note: I later found the Mega Drive version contained a digital phrase left out of the American version spoken by the main boss Grandmaster Meio: "All sons of old Gods....dieeeeeeee!"
It was one of those proud moments. Not only did I get great deal on an import game; it was alot better cosmetically ( case art ) and uncensored in-game.
