Popular in the UK in the '50's as ceramic wall decorations, the central player here is out of sync with his wing timing. This may increase the value of the trio on The Antiques Roadshow due to their unique rarity.

Coated in a digital glaze of Topaz AI this trio will add grace and style to any wall - get your bids in now!

I really like the monkey with the cymbals and the elephant with the drum.

These are so sweet! :-)

Bridget Louise Riley CH CBE (born 24 April 1931 in Norwood, London) is an English painter who is one of the foremost proponents of Op art, which exploits the fallibility of the human eye.

It seems to me that many artists today (in which I include myself) are investigating the present via the parts of the past that were sidelined as lightweight by the so called higher culture.

Perhaps a kind of rearview mirrorism, an attempted retro-pop culture reification - the past, paradoxically, is/was more real in part because it formed the ideas of the present.

If I'm at all right it might indicate that, rather than a flight into hipster nostalgia for a past never experienced by most, it's an expression of a sense of inauthenticity within the present popular culture and a search for what has been erroneously discarded.

(Please bear with the clumsiness of a half formed new year idea.)

"Surrealists explored the unconscious and the irrational, believing repression of the human imagination and subconscious desires to be connected to the chaos of modern life."

The given past is as unreliable as the present.

Towards a new kind of human hybrid on a different plane.

Mirrored-self misidentification is the delusional belief that one's reflection in a mirror is some other person (often believed to be someone who is following one around). Often people who suffer from this delusion are not delusional about anything else. It is considered a monothematic delusion; it is sometimes labelled a delusional misidentification syndrome. The disorder is often found within the context of dementia and can also be caused by the organic dysfunction resulting from traumatic brain injury, stroke, or neurological illness.
