‘Go Cat’ 357 from Brisbane seen vacating 34L Sydney Airport back on this day in 2015 in fact!!! This is before the recent change of their callsign to ‘TIGGOZ’ and still wearing the former 'retrocat' livery, but now wears the TigerairAU livery! Bit of a 'Throw Back Thursday post!

Just a quiet dinner with the usual suspects. Thanks to Androo for the Rolling Rocks, and to myself for spending all day in the kitchen to rock some tastebuds.

The dress is Necessary Objects brand, from Filene's Basement.

The scarf in my hair is from Retrocat Vintage.

The Marc Jacobs peeptoes are prized possessions.

The pink scarf is secondhand, I'm thinking garage sale.

The cardigan I got secondhand in reform school, the tights are from Target.

ACTIVITY: hillbilly barbeque. happy birthday, brian!

INSPIRATION: a pair of purple and rainbow stripy socks I didn't end up wearing

CLOTHING: American Apparel dress, bikini top from Target's girls' dept.

ACCESSORIES: purse from Retrocat Vintage, purple fishnets from The Hustler Store, feather fascinator from Hobby Lobby, Nine West heels

HOW TO: I couldn't tell you exactly how I tied the AA jersey pencil bandeau dress to get it to look like this, but I will tell you that it involved a bikini and double stick tape, and wouldn't have worked without it.

This photo makes me crave salt.

Retrocat is phat

In the time the last Tiger Airways Airbus A320 to wear the old liver, seen here passing the mound on a gray March morning.

Ha ha, does anyone else remember when I dressed like a little girl all the time? It's funny how quickly our personal style can change. I rarely rock the cupcake/lolita/pink overdose/five years old aesthetic anymore, but obviously I still have all the clothes, so it was fun to take a trip down memory lane.

OUTFIT: secondhand Anna Sui shirt, Disney Cuties skirt

ACCESSORIES: vintage scarf from Flower Child, purse from Retrocat Vintage, Target knee socks, Bebe heels, handmade bracelet & key wristband from Yankee Trader, fascinator from Hobby Lobby

OUTFIT: 1950s shirt dress and apron, bought on different days from Retrocat Vintage

ACCESSORIES: vintage gloves from Flower Child, Leg Avenue stockings, Target shoes

INSPIRATION: Lewis Carroll and elegant Lolita

It was so sad and boring and grey today I didn't even bother trying to find a nice background.

Remixed Target skirt and chiffon scarf from Flower Child.

Remixed Target sweater and frame purse from Retrocat Vintage.

The kidskin flats are Me Too.

OUTFIT: recycled combo of a Tiny Factory T, thrifted school uniform skirt, and Hello Kitty purse; layered green polo from the kid's racks at Target

ACCESSORIES: Payless plimsolls, yellow scarf from Retrocat Vintage

ACTIVITY: Sticky Thai with Tacopunch & Royb0t, booty dancing

INSPIRATION: I was reading about The Buddy Dean show, which inspired John Water's movie Hairspray: there was rivalry between the hair hoppers and the drapes (greasers). I'm going for a drapette look.

OUTFIT: Target cardigan, thrifted vintage slip, secondhand tube top

ACCESSORIES: polka dotted scarf from Unique Thrift's 50% off Mondays, belt off a dress from Retrocat Vintage, We Love Colors knee highs, Target Kids' mary janes, Hello Kitty lunchbox

CABEZA: ZenniOptical.com glasses, Princess Leia buns

The plaid jumper was $4 from Ohio Thrift.

Retrocat Vintage has a tin of jumbled belts where I found this $2 belt off a dress I've never seen.

I was, yet again, caught without a scarf when I bought the $7 red cashmere scarf I'm using as a shrug.

The red patent shoes are Hot Kiss, and the purse was from a garage sale.

Stark white and dark black. Clubby London Drum and Bass. Fonts with thick and thin lines. The only adjustment I make on pretty much every scanned drawing. I love high contrast.

I wanted to reuse the combination of my thrifted Topshop cardigan, and my dotted silk scarf from the Brown Elephant charity shop in Chicago.

I swapped in a swiss dot Liz Claiborne* dress as the bottom layer, and let the neckline and hem of a secondhand 70s polka dot shirt peek out.

My shiny white stockings are from StockinGirl, and my mary janes are from Target. So is the incredibly cheap plastic tote I was lugging my coffeehouse-reading and tripod in.

The leather gloves are new-old-stock from Retrocat Vintage.

*OMG ISSAC MIZRAHI AS NEW CREATIVE DIRECTOR? Wearable retro femme dresses up to Heaven is my prediction for this partnership.

I tend to buy things I think match my glasses, so I have a whole set of light purple and a whole set of dark.

The cozy cashmere sweater and miniskirt are from work.

The violet crossbody frame bag is from Retrocat Vintage.

The rhinestone garter is from The Garden. Yes, it is meant for holding dollar bills, but no one sees fit to bestow cold cash onto me while wearing it.

The strappy shoes with suede flowers are Nine West; I bought them in the Bloomingdale's on Michigan Avenue while on vacation in Chicago as a teenager, with my very own money from my first job(slinging hash). I felt like a GROWN UP LADY at the time. They are still lovable and comfortable.

I wasn't dressed for the weather, I was dressed for sitting inside sick and pitying myself.

Despite asking Metafilter I have no idea how to properly wear my vast collection of sunny 50s tea party dresses during winter, so I just said fuck it and pretended it's spring.

INSPIRATIONS: going to see Michel Gondry's Be Kind Rewind, George Lucas' Starwars, and Stanley Kubrick's Lolita

The ceremonial headdress gives me the powers of telepathy. After taking this photo, I recieved a transmission from my saucy overlords that it would be a better idea to use the necklace as a chain on the purse.

The ceremonial space headress is from Retrocat Vintage

The sunglasses are from Bonanza, The World's Largest Gift Shop in LV, NV. For quite a bit cheaper than Fred Flare's flogging them for.

The pearls are costume and the beaded evening bag is from an awesome garage sale.

ACTIVITY: riding my bike all over town on a freakishly nice day

OUTFIT: unknown blazer, dress from Retrocat Vintage

INSPIRATION: 1970s colors in a 1950s silhouette

I know pirates have gone the way of the zombie and the robot, but I couldn't resist bringing a little South Seas chic to my everyday look.

My thrifted yellow sundress is transformed from sunday school sweet to punk pirate princess with the addition of a pirate hat and halloween candy bag, both under a dollar each from Target. That's where my black cardigan is from, as well.

I'm wearing Leg Avenue checkered stockings with my Blue Asphalt pirate boots.

The little yellow silk scarf is from Retrocat Vintage.

OUTFIT: secondhand cardigan, generic tube dress worn as skirt, Power Rangers T

ACCESSORIES: orange scarf from Sav-On Drugs, yellow scarf from Retrocat Vintage, green Target purse, Marc Jacobs yellow linen peeptoes

INSPIRATION: mon nouvel ami Chymer

OUTFIT: Anna Sui dress, scarf from Retrocat Vintage

ACESSORIES: Marc Jacobs peeptoes, garage sale purse

SERENDIPITY: I found this dress for $8 in a consignment store with unique Anna Sui tags many years ago. It's most definitely authentic, but it's not ready to wear; it's got to be a prototype, or a garment from a runway show. Anyway, it came with a bolero and skirt in the same fabric that were sized for 10 foot tall models and looked terrible on me, but this dress fits me like a glove, has boning (!!!) in the bodice to perk things up, and I'm pretty sure it's silk.

INSPIRATION: elegant lolita & Alice in Wonderland

OUTFIT: thrifted plaid coat with velvet collar and buttons, Japanese-import Hello Kitty tank top, 1950s shirtdress and apron from Retrocat Vintage

ACCESSORIES: ox blood croc-stamped leather clasp briefcase from a garage sale, Chloé wedges, stockings from The Garden, Hobby Lobby bandanna worn as headband

GLASSES: Yankee Trader sunnies with the lenses swapped for my 'script by GlobalEyeglasses.com

OUTFIT: dress from Retrocat Vintage

ACCESSORIES: vintage scarf, Marc Jacobs flats, vintage purse, teal button from One More Time

INSPIRATION: low saturation and translucence. I was having trouble matching this very light blue breezy dress because I tend toward electric blues and turquoises. I settled on my Marc Jacobs jellies because while they're the wrong color, they're the exact right saturation.

I also like Aquaphor a lot ! My fourth tattoo, and I've finally got this healing thing right ! :D

I am so pleased with this tattoo, I cannot begin to explain.

I'm a little more 1920s vamp than my designer impetus, but I think I managed to take some of my favorite touches from Marc Jacobs' spring 2008 collection and incorporate them into my everyday wardrobe.

The rumpled stockings, sheer fabrics, and wrinkled elbow gloves are a way to add luxurious texture to basic black.

I'm wearing New-Old-Stock gloves from Retrocat Vintage, a black cardigan from Target, a sheer wrap, rolled down thigh highs, and Kate Spade heels topped with rabbit's fur poms (one of the models wore a huge fur orb as a hat in the Marc Jacobs' show).
