CAMBRIDGE RETRO

25 years ago, in the Spring of 1982, I took loads of photographs of shops and buildings in Cambridge. This year, 2007, I'm going back to take as many of them again. The Before and After photos are here on flickr.

This is the Mosque in Mawson Road. The same scene today.

I love this kind of retro design!

New, not as improved as I hoped, modelled pictures of Retro Skirt. I did not cut off my head from the picture, my husband just tried to capture the skirt instead of me - apparently to capture both was impossible, due to the light.

The skirt is a bit too big for me, since it is intended for my mother, so maybe it does not look just as good as it should on me. I love the colour, although brown is really not one of my usual favourites. Soon, my version of the Retro Skirt in beige will be finished.

Sleigh bells ring are you listening

In the lane snow is glistening

A beautiful sight oh we're happy tonight

Walking in a winter wonderland

Gone away is the bluebird

Here to stay is a new bird

He's singing a song as we go along

Walking in a winter wonderland

Well in the meadow we can build a snowman

And pretend that he is Parson Brown

He'll say are you married we say no man

But you can do the job when you're in town

Later on we'll conspire as we dream by the fire

To face unafraid of the plans that we made

Walking in a winter wonderland

And pretend he's a circus clown

We have lots of fun with Mr. Snowman

Until the other kiddies knock him down

Oh when it snows ain't it filling

Though your nose gets a chilling

We'll frolic and play the Eskimo way

Walking in a winter wonderland

Touch-up of a photo I took earlier at Oaklawn Gardens in Germantown, Tennessee of an older school sign.

It' been called a "Jetson's Style".

So modern, yet so retro.

Top part o' shelves!

It's REALLY REALLY hard taking a pic of things too tall for my tripod. Tripods don't like to balance on ladder steps very well. 0-o

James wears 'Retro Haus' a flower crown full of orange pink & green. Of course you can turn the crown the other way around to have the feathers sweeping down & away on her left side. I hope you like it >-<

December :2012..today i finally got round to putting the Christmas tree up and the decorations for the festive activities..i always try to make hand made gifts for Family and friends here's a quick shot with my old trusty Nikon coolpix, and also my attempt at making my own Christmas card, which i'll be getting printed to send out this christmas..

As always, first i copied the original photo, and opened Gimp 2.8, next i applied a texture by drag & drop, mode set at "overlay", then Desaturated the texture, then inverted the image from the colour tools.,lowering the opacity to 35%, then added another new layer which i gave a slight gaussian blur (setting 1.5) from blur tool, next i adjusted the Curves finally to create the "retro look"this you can suit to your own personal taste by experimenting with the Curve tool, which is brilliant for creating a mood.

Next i added a new layer added a line-border from the tools extending the bottom half of the image..to finish the image i added the "Merry~ Christmas" caption using the "Text tool" font colour hue (e6e0d6) (Opacity 55 %) (felix Titling) (size 175 pixels) pressing the space bar 5 times before hitting the "CaptLock" to type in the "Merry~Christmas" Caption...hope you like it.:)
